This album is a must have for any Barry fan.

The songs from Copacabana have been changed slightly for Barry to be able to sing them solo but they are still as fab as ever.

The new ones from Harmony are superb and guaranteed to bring a lump to your throat.

Definitely one for the Christmas stocking.

I had heard John Barry interviewed on NPR online in 1998 and he played the theme song to this movie. I was just blown away. I had to download the file, I remember, so I was able to play it many many times, but this was way before mp3 files were popular, so the only time I could listen to it was when I was at the computer.

I thought about it for years, really. Silly, I know-- but I really loved the music and I imagined that I could play it on the piano well if I could just find the sheet music to it, too (I can't play by ear :( ). I looked periodically over the years but could never find it. And, when I actually did find it, I was very confused because I found the OTHER soundtrack-- which was not what I was looking for.

British Light Music Classics, Vol.2

This is even better than its predecessor. There's more confidence in the playing and the programme is especially well chosen, with its emphasis on I-never-knew-it-was-called-that tunes. Fans of the Archers will be pleased to hear its signature tune in its entirety. The whole programme is top-drawer but unexpectedly my special favourite is Finck's In the Shadows--I'd heard it before but this time the tune really got into my blood. Good to see this series continuing.
