I absolutely love Brad Paisley and I love what he has done with these great xmas songs!!He's given these old favorites a country make over while still keeping the spirit of christmas.

Gram Parsons first introduced me to the Louvin Brothers, via his take on Cash On The Barrelhead. This compilation features immaculate musicianship, stellar vocal performances and a selection of very fine tunes. As far as I'm concerned any CD featuring a duet by Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell is worth having but they excel themselves here on My Baby's Gone. The entire album overflows with great singing from the likes of Alison Krauss, Dolly Parton, James Taylor and Merle Haggard. Any country fan will be familiar with these names but the less well known (too me at least) prove to be of a similar high standard. This is often regarded as Dolly's third covers album (after Great pretender and Treasures), but Dolly also recorded a Christmas covers album (Home for Christmas) and a gospel covers album (Precious memories) as well as an album of Porter Wagoner songs (My favorite songwriter Porter Wagoner). Nevertheless, if you're going to make comparisons, Great pretender (recorded during the Hollywood phase of Dolly's career) and Treasures (recorded during the mid-nineties when Dolly's albums weren't selling well) are the obvious albums to compare with. Actually, each of these albums differ in style so much that comparisons are pointless, even though one song (Turn turn turn) from Great pretender is reprised here.

When everthing that was coming out of the raido was the same. any way I think personaly that he is one of the best musicans since his graddad. This CD, which was released in 1989, is a great collection of twelve great Linda Ronstadt tunes. As a matter of fact, four of them are duets with the great Aaron Neville, and the Skywalker Symphony Orchestra backs all of them up. This is a great CD, one that shows off Ms. Ronstadt's copious talents to good effect. I highly recommend this CD!

Shania Twains debut album. Shania says this is a nashville record! not a Shania Twain record! Shania only wrote one song on this album (God Ain't Gonna Getcha For That!)
As Usual she sounds great and makes you love these songs (even if you think they're not your style!) Has some great tunes! What Made You Say That Is a catchy upbeat song that everyone who hears likes! Includes a track called "Dance With the one that brought you" the Video was directed by Sean Penn Maddonas ex husband! This Album inclues many great songs even though they are not Shania's own songs she sings them great.

I've listened to Christmas albums by a Soul luminary (Al Green), the King of Rock and Soul (Solomon Burke) doing Gospel, the greatest band ever groovin' away (Booker T. & the MGs), and am, as most folks, very familiar with all the traditional Yuletide jingles done by various artists since the dawn of Rock 'N Roll, but this one is the best, and by far the most accessible, of them all.

After hearing Yoakam perform a stupendous working of the great "I'll Be Home For Christmas" on television, I knew I had to get this album. This is one of those rare pieces that is a set of ballads within a ballad, shaped as an album. I bought this when it first came out in vinyl and thought it one of the best set's I'd heard, and for me, the best Willie Nelson has ever done (all of it is great). Having been raised in the west and lived in Montana, the music resonates the country it describes. If you are a Willie fan and don't have a copy of this, I can't understand why.

I,m not a country fan(much) but was given this album as a pressie. I love it!!. I like every single track without exception. I play this when i,m at home alone and it goes down well when we have friends round. I,ts easy to listen to and made all the better by Willie Nelsons "one off" voice. Brilliant.
