This is not the strongest collection of Randy's music yet released (that is the double-CD Anthology) but it is the best single CD available. As such, if you feel that a double CD is either too much or too expensive, this is the one to go for. It contains nineteen of his hits for Warner from the old millennium and one track from his 2002 album (Rise and shine), Three wooden crosses. Randy's voice has similarities with Lefty Frizzell, Merle Haggard and Clint Black, but the contrasting musical styles ensures that you won't normally confuse one with another.

Chely's albums have been mainly traditional/contemporary country but she decides to go more Pop/Country with this album.It has a more acoustic vibe to it which is good but it's a shame she didn't keep it country enough.
However,it's still a good album.She kicks things off with the great It's The Song(which sums up chely perfectly).Other great ballads are Back Of The Bottom Drawer,I Got Him Ready For You,Southside Of Lonesome and Wheels.She also does a hauntingly,deep song about her relationship with her mother called Between A Mother And A Child.
Chely wrote most of the songs on this,so you get to really see what a great writer she really is.Her voice as always sounds amazing, I just hope for her next album she keeps it more country...

Whilst this is not the best CD from Ms. Yearwood (Brooks) it is an excellent album. Trisha Yearwood must be the most underated artist in the world today, why her popularity seems to only be massive in the States is simply beyond me.

Alan's first Christmas album was recorded in a traditional country style and was mostly made up of original song. There were covers but Alan steered clear of all the obvious traditional songs. As a complete contrast, this album, although rooted in country, is laced with strings, horns and other accompaniment and the songs are all standards except the title track, which Alan wrote. Although the title track is original, the theme is not – it is a plea for peace and goodwill to all. There are many such songs around, but this is among the best.

The standards are sung with restraint – even the upbeat songs like Have yourself a merry little Christmas, Winter wonderland, Jingle bells and Santa Claus is coming to town do not rise above mid-tempo. ... Read More:

...because all they have to do is give this album a spin to realize that their legacy is safe in the hands of posterity. This CD has only rarely been out of my player since I picked it up - I can hardly say what a delight it is to hear someone so unabashedly and unrepentantly honkytonk. Sunny Sweeney slots into that genre of singers represented by Amy Allison and Gillian Welch who are so deep into their roots that one isn't always sure whether they're doing is an hommage to country or a piss-take (hope I can say that in print here) thereof, but whose charm and verve make one more than willing to give them the benefit of the doubt - roll on, Sunny!!!

As I write this review, George Strait now has 52 number one hit singles. Proof that he is one of the greatest artists of the last 30 years in any genre of music. The new single included in this set, "I Hate Everything" went to Number One in its first week of release as did the album itself. From "Fool Hearted Memory" to "I Cross My Heart", from "I Know She Still Loves Me" to "She'll Leave You With A Smile" George just keeps on going strong after 25 years. Every song is a winner, not a bad one among them and I would strongly recommend if you are a true music fan you should have this in your collection. Move over Elvis "18 number ones" Presley and arise King George.

"The Beaches of Cheyenne" is a fantastic love song which covers the cruel world of loss and pain, and I think this is my favourite on the cd.
