Wow. what a hit, as a previous reviewer said this is ok if you are trying him for the first time. This guy has that smooth old style country voice with just enough of a new edge to make him contemperary and sexy!!!!
If you have never heard of him or not to sure think of a cross between Tim McGraw and Garth Brooks. This album has a great mix of smooch alongs, soulful, thoughprovoking and just foot tapping greatness.

I am a longstanding fan of Irish Traditional Music and so, when I was standing in a Birmingham record store quite a few years back and my ear caught the sound of "Happiness", I immediately asked the assistant the name of the band. I couldn't believe my ears at the clear and clean perfection of the sound. I've known this CD for a number of years and yet it always sounds virtually as fresh as the first time I heard it, very unusual for music which can be easily remembered - at least for me!

It's strange that her albums have in someway regressed in maturity and depth. each one somehow lacking the individuality of the one before. This is the weakest album, no doubt about it. The strongest tracks are 'rosey and mick' and 'perfectly clear' I always loved the unashamed sweetness and innovence in her tracks, such as in 'this way'and 'break me', but here songs such as 'love is a garden' border on nausea.

I love Martina McBride-so naturally I cannot recommend this hits collection enough!!
It contains everything from her early big songs like Independence Day,My Baby Loves Me,the powerful A Broken Wing,Safe In The Arms Of Love and her first no.1 Wild Angels, to her more contemporary songs like Where Would You Be,Concrete Angel,I Love You,When God Fearin' Women Get The Blues,Blessed and her excellent socially conscious hit Loves The Only House.
If your new to country music or to Martina then this cd is a must to start you off.You will not be disappointed.
She released this cd in 2001, and believe me the hits haven't stopped here.Since this album she's made some more fantastic albums and is still notching up more huge hits to add to her next collection....

Should be called 101 Country Greats LIVE. This must be the worst country music box set ever released onto the unsuspecting music fan. Nearly all the tracks are pretty poor live versions of some great country songs! The artists appear to be the original people but not the original versions. There is no warning on the box or discs that the music is live or on Amazons description. I don't get fooled very often buying music online but I was by this load of rubbish. Be warned!!!!!!!!!!!!

The mix of country music on this is truly eclectic. From modern contempory through to the very traditional. All have been given, and benefited from the 'Chicks' treatment. The characteristic lead vocal and tight harmonies are brilliant.
If you haven't added this to your collection yet, it comes highly recommended. The current price on Amazon is a bargain.

This is a good and an entertaining listen but some of the tracks fall below their usual high standard. The good is good as opposed to being great and the best tracks are Proud of the House We Built and God Must be Busy. The Ballad of jerry Jeff Walker is amusing. No truly great tracks. Not as essential a buy as Hillbilly Deluxe, Red Dirt Road or Steers and Stripes which are better albums and much more essential buys. Worth buying if you like Brooks & Dunn.
