By going back to her roots, singer/songwriter Simpson proves that when it comes to country music she's a better songwriter than singer, but not by much. Eight of the tracks bear the Simpson name under writing credits, and although there are a few good songs, this won't go down as one of her better albums.
The first single is "Come on Over" (co-written by Simpson), a short (less than 3 minutes) country-pop mainstream "driving-along-on-a-Sunday-with-the-radio-on" song, with a decent chorus and all the country trimmings.
The second single is "Remember That", another country-pop song about an abusive relationship where the guy comes begging back after he comes to his senses. The lyrics remind the victim of the physical ... Read More:

Lady Antebellum are on fire right now in country music and with this excellent no.1 debut you can easily see why!!
They begin with their first superb hit Love Don't Live Here and the hits just keep on coming. With some fantastic catchy uptempos like their current hit Lookin' For A Good Time and Slow Down Sister these songs will be stuck in your head in no time. There's also the great female empowering song Long Gone which Hillary mainly sings on her own and Home Is Where The Heart Is which has a real summer sound to it,including a lovely fiddle arrangement.
There's also some beautiful ballads including the gorgeous All We'd Ever Need where Charles and Hillary sing as a duet(this really shows off their fantastic voices)and Can't Take My Eyes Off You. ... Read More:

I am probably more of an alt country/Americana fan - I think most of the best songwriting is coming from that genre right now as radio-friendly country gets blander and blander and more pop-like. But you cannot deny that Tim McGraw consistently delivers good quality songs with excellent value for money album, brilliantly produced. There is very little filler here and although he is sounding a little more morose than usual, even the really downbeat songs like 'Between the River and Me' have catchy hooks. 'Suspicions' was the song that first caught my imagination, great tune, great rhythm, great backing. Nowadays there is not one song that I would skip over. The obligatory duet with his wife Faith Hill continues a long series of beautiful love songs and I think ... Read More:

I have purchased the latest album of Billy Currington,I have to say, He never stops surprising his fans. I knew this latest album would be as good as the previous two, with songs varying from ballads, and fast paced, his songs, and his voice is absolutely delightful, it is guarantee to satisfy every need of country music fans.
Thank you Billy, for this latest excellent album, and keep on coming.

This album from the uncrowned queen of country Lee Ann Womack is possibly her best. That is saying a lot when you consider the outstanding quality of her previous albums. In the great tradition of George Jones this album manages to be great country without falling into the "My mother is a cripple in Nashville" genre which often happens with lesser artists. As usual the songs are delivered with great pathos from Womack who's soulful voice is second to none at the moment. "Last Call" has the potential to be a country classic and "Either Way" a song about a loveless marriage are only two examples of diamonds on an album filled with gems. Buy it. You wont be dissapointed.

Great song choices here though perhaps only 'Telling Me Lies' sounds out of place. What really sells this album is the sheer joy you feel at the harmonies. I'm not a big fan of the singers so have no agenda here, but they sound fantastic together. Stand out tracks include 'I've Had Enough', 'Those Memories' and and the aching 'My Dear Companion'

Genuinely this has to be one of the best albums in my vast collection, Come On Over was brilliant, but this is even better. There are so many outstanding tracks-my top five would be:
5-I'm Jealous
4-I'm Gonna Getcha Good!
3-What A Way To Wanna Be
2-Ka-Ching!
1-C'est La Vie

well when I first listened to pearl harbor i lay down on my bed, with my eyes closed imagining where the music is from on the film. I love pearl harbor, faith Hill has an amazing voice, i think thats a good way to start of the soundtrack and then you go on to all the other music which is also fantastic. im only 15 so this review will be a bit rubbish but when you listen to number 9 it makes me cry everytime i listen to it just picturing were abouts in the film the music is from! i also put the cd on just before im about to go to bed because it helps me go to sleep not becaue its boring because its also relaxing.

If Ray Davies is the grandfather of Brit Pop, then when the next generation of new country comes along, Nanci Griffith will stand out as the Grandmother of her genre. This is Nanci Griffith at her magnificent best with an album of rare beauty, both in terms of poetic and melodic excellence.
Many of the songs are tender and evocative, even to the extent that a quintessentially English person can live the life the songs portray. So many lyrics eat away at the subconscious and surface again and again over the years; lyrics of inimitable intelligence and beauty in the normally vapid world of modern music. Not even the ghastly "Sweet Dreams Will Come" prevent this from being one of the finest albums ever recorded - in any genre - and prove that even Texas is capable of creating something ... Read More:
