In my opinion the best album from this dynamic squad. Heart warming music that hits the mark and takes you on a real journey beyond physical reality.
I do enjoy the more club orientated sounds but its the honesty of some of the earlier tracks that really move me. Although, I would recommend any of the albums.
But without question live is the best way to hear this group. Without doubt they have put on the best live shows I have ever seen, truly exhilerating, sheer brilliance.

Amazing Things

This is a wonderful album, with lots of excellent songs. I own six Runrig albums, and this is one of my favourites. The power of the writing and the singing is an axample ot many other bands. Great music!

The magician that is Damien Rice has pulled another one out of the hat. When I listened to 'O' I thought I wouldn't hear a better album in a long time and I was proved wrong. The album 'B-Sides' shows all the emotions imaginable. From love to pain he takes you through a truly delightful journey. When I listen to a song with explicit language I think sometimes it is unnecessary, but in this album it helps Rice get his emotions across in a magical way. The feeling and enthusiasm put into this album is clear for anyone to see. Also the way in which he can portray his music recorded or live it is just as stunning either way. Farewell Angelina: Remastered

I've only had this CD for about two weeks and all I can say is that it's simply amazing. It is the first Joan Baez album I've bought and it certainly won't be the last! Baez's voice, in my opinion, is pretty much flawless on all the tracks on this - she hits high notes with ease, her phrasing is wonderful and her vibrato is stunning. Her expression is excellent too, even if she does miss the sarcasm that Bob Dylan intended on songs like, "It's All Over Now, Baby Blue" (which, by the way, is actually one of my favourites on the album so far). She also covers Dylan's "Farewell, Angelina", "Satisfied Mind", "A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall" and "One Too Many Mornings" extremely effectively.

Apart from the Dylan covers, there are also Woody Guthrie, Donovan and Pete Seeger covers, ... Read More:

Chameleon

Tim O'Brien's new solo release finds him in very fine voice and delightfully showcasing his skills on a variety of stringed instruments. In addition to being consistently tuneful, his voice has a warmth and richness which I found reminiscent of the great English Folk singer Roy Bailey. The 16 tracks on this album incorporate a broad range of traditions, including various shades of Country/Folk and Blues.

None of the songs themselves are startlingly, or even memorably, original. Tim is one of those artists who is a wonderful interpreter (this is appropriate when you think about it, given the album title) but is unlikely to be remembered as a songwriter. Hence only 4 stars. like nick cave, don mclean and so many others, loudon could be incredibly inconsistent and therefore frustrating with his records, with the average always outweighing the great but making all his albums worth finding cos you just know that SOMEWHERE youre gonna find a song that makes it all worthwhile! - this album, along with 'history' is probably his most consistent offering. i always prefer loudon when he stays in the quieter, more serious zones, and theres a couple here that show him at his very best.
'motel blues' seems humourous at first but is in fact a quite lonely little tale. the 3-part 'i know im happy/suicide song/glenville reel thing ... Read More:
