If you need to slow-down after mulling over the problems of a busy day,this is the tonic.Just You Just Me is the ideal title for these offerings from a more *intimate* Brubeck than the chord-basher some critics have, in the past,labelled him.The liner notes provide some personal insights into his choices of material.Brubecks first solo album*Brubeck Plays Brubeck*is interesting by comparison,as JYJM is a more mature,thoughtful output.His*Variations on Brother Can You Spare A Dime*is a good example.Forty years is too long to wait for Brubecks next solo album,as he admits in the liners.
