god you wouldnt want to meet this old gal..sounding like tom waits meats keith richards at the throat cancer clinic after a crate of chevas regal..its pretty depressing album..but people who find the jools hollands later show exciting will lap it up..BUT why you should buy this album is the killer guitar sound on track 2..like neil young and J mascis..wicked...another example of a 2 or 3 track album with the rest plastic padding..you know ..all filler
Release Date December 13, 2004
A few dodgy tracks as to be expected on any album, however fantastic songs by the kinks, henry mancini and the police, cake, bob dylan, tindersticks, dominic chianese, elvis costello and casey chambers.
A massive blend of different musical genres that truly is fantastic, only falls short of five stars due to several unremarkable tracks, a perfect companion to the series and a must buy for soprano fans and music fans alike
Release Date September 26, 1995
If you have listened to Emmylou's 70's albums, you may be disappointed in this album but give it a chance. It is slower and more difficult than the first albums but it has its moments. The songs like "All My Tears" and "Orphan Girl" are great!
Release Date February 02, 2004
I liked this album a lot even though many of the tracks are a bit too fast and loud compared to music I usually listen to.But I've been listening to it for a couple of months now so it's definitely got quality.
Release Date March 20, 1999
"Country Rock" might be the term used on the back of this, but what it actually is is great driving music. Members of the band form other well-known groups/musical phenomena - Loggins and Messina springing happily to mind. This is a wonderful way to hear the band's best numbers, especially if you're totally new to them, as I was, until about 6 weeks ago. Not only that, but you may just find it the ultimate in feel good music. It makes you want to put the hood down on your car and step on the gas. Oh, and I defy you not to love Rose of Cimarron. Glorious stuff.
Release Date June 14, 1993
There are so many great tracks on this album that this could easily be a best of! The unplugged format is perfect for Neil Young and really shows his songs off in their best light and his voice goes just perfectly with acoustic guitar. This is where I began my love of Neil Young and I really believe it is a great starting point in his music and style before delving deeper into his other albums. A great album.
Release Date May 26, 2008
Not as good as Nick Worrall's debut album which is similar but more homely. This is a pretty good though and should not be missed.
Release Date March 01, 2004
I really love this album. Emmyloyu has a great voice! She is one of the best female singers ever! The songs "Bluebird Wine", "Sleepless Nights", and "Boulder to Birmingham" are so beautiful and good! This is a 70's classic!

Not much more to add to all the extensive reviews of this particular Neil Young. Readers will be aware of most of its history. Its unavailability in "regular" cd form, until very recently. This rather added to the album's cult status, which contrived to make secondhand vinyl copies seriously expensive. (Up to £100, apparently, through the more "unscrupulous" outlets.)
The cd issue faithfully recreates the original album's artwork, to make a very pleasing package. (Not just a crummy, little booklet.) For me, there are three of my all-time favourite Neil Young tracks. Firstly, "See The Sky About To Rain". Very downbeat, but extremely uplifting. It's followed by "Revolution Blues", which features one of Neil's most effective guitar solos and the succinct lyric "i ... Read More:

Prairie Wind is the most emotionally resonant record I think I've ever heard. I think it's Neil's voice. On this record it's just superb; dripping with integrity and emotion. Sure, some of the tunes are similar to previous releases, but the lyrical content and intent in the writing lift these country-tinged songs way above their predecessors. The album never fails to bring a tear to my eye at least 4 times whenever I listen to it. I must be going soft.
Neil covers recent political issues, the passage of time and family matters in such a personal and universal way that you would have to be a plank of wood in order not to be moved. I should know - I'm emotionally retarded generally, but this really brings it out.
The definite highlight is "No Wonder", which ... Read More:
