All the songs are good but there is a track here that is one of the best country songs I have heard - " Don't Be Late For Your Life."
It is just such a beautiful song!

first seen this band on the ellen degeneres show, and was hooked, alittle bit country but better, this album is fantastic, pity more of us at this side of the Atlantic heard of them, they would make it here no problem, i would defo recommend this cd

I first bought this album when it first came out back in 1989 just a month or so after the tragic death of roy orbison,who my opinon was quite simply the greatest singer,songwriter of all time.This is a must have album for enyone who wishes to hear eny of roys music.
I was only 19yrs old when i heard the news of roy death on the radio and to my shame it was the first time i had heard of roy orbison,but i was impressed with the snipets of his big hits from the sixtys that was played druing the news flash of his death,so much so that i bought the greatest hit compilation that came out at the time and after playing that i knew that i was listerning to something truely wonderfull

Ms Chapin Carpenter's music is an elusive and deceptive creature.
On the face of it she has always been a singer/songwriter whose album
releases have an enduring, predictable and reassuring quality.
Somehow one always seems to come along just when you need it.

So here we have her ninth offering (not counting the 'Party Doll' and
'Essential' compilations) and the word 'Essential' does indeed
have meaning here.

Her warm, tonally sound, rock-solid mezzo and guitar carry these
thirteen fine songs with good grace, refinement and consistantly
convincing understatement.

Oddly enough, on a wet, dreary day wandering around Swansea University campus, Sparklehorse's third album (and personal favourite) seems optimistic, even happy. Slight contradiction really, as Mark Linkous has been repeatedly hailed as the best writer of moving, slow, and quiet, sad simple songs around. Also taking into account his random weird lyrics (I.e. "I'm the dog that ate your birthday cake", from this album's title track) and interesting song titles of course.

Even with the epic granduer that was Sparklehorse's most recent album 'Dreamt For Light Years In The Belly Of A Mountain', it's still good to sink into reliable classics like `Sea Of Teeth' and `Gold Day', which go about their simple brilliance with hushed vocals, accompanied ... Read More:

It is by far the most famous and biggest-selling 'Best Of' ever released, and contains most of the influential American band's greatest songs. It is one of the biggest selling albums of all time, alongside with Michael Jackson's "Thriller" and Pink Floyd's "Dark Side Of The Moon". It was an essential part of any music collection, and still really is.

"The Very Best Of The Eagles", the most recently-released Eagles compliation, features pretty much all these singles with more added ("Hotel California" for instance), but I didn't get the same feel to it as I did with this one. This one is to much of a legend to be replaced. It really is.

I have been a massive fan of Dr Hook since i was a little child, as has my younger sister. Listening to this CD brought back the great memories i had as we both danced about to "In Love with a beautiful Woman". Even when i listen to it now i can't help but do a little jig, it really is true Dr Hook "You Make My Pants Want To Get Up And Dance"

This Cd is one which can be listened to with the family and friends, i even let my dog listen to it and i'm sure she even appreciates it.

If you haven't listened to Dr Hook before then this CD is a good start as you don't know what you're missing with these funky guys.

To have all Crystal's big hits on one CD is an impossible task.
This compilation of greatest hits, however, is very near that
purpose. It holds 13 of her 18 #1 hits and the songs cover the
period from 1970 till 1986. The first song I had never heard of
before, is clearly an ode to Patsy Cline and a wonderful interpre-
tation. Since I received the CD, I have been playing it every day.
Besides the mentioned number one hits, the rest are also big hits
and this CD deserves at least the 5 stars I've given it because
Amazon's classification doesn't go any further.
