Hate to give my favourite band only four stars, but the music is the highlight here. The EP is stunning, moody and engrossing, a great roundup that includes live tracks and a quite different lyrical version of Boxer's Slow Show. Makes me eager to explore more of their back catalogue and look forward to newer material.
I first saw the film having read a review that it's largely arty nonsense. True, the images are disjointed and jumpy, it probably goes on too long and the combo of music with narrative makes it difficult to hear either. But the interviews shed some light on what makes the band tick, individually and collectively. The mood you'd expect from their recorded work or live show runs through the film. Watching the ... In the UK only Stage Fright was a chart album and it was not much more in the States with Rock of Ages added later.Hit singles were only minor in comparison to say Bob Dylan's.
As I'm not much of a rock fan-if that's supposed to mean heavy metal or hard rock-I see the Band as closer to country music and certainly to Americana which is just an extension to Roots music.
I don't pretend to understand rock critic language-which basically praises the first Band albums then claims to be disappointed with what followed when its really all the same thing-staying in the same turf.
The Band were in the right place at the right time on at least 2 occasions-Ronnie Hawkins and Bob Dylan. With the latter they were a typically noisy rock'n'roll band who ... Read More:

If you have listened to Emmylou's 70's albums, you may be disappointed in this album but give it a chance. It is slower and more difficult than the first albums but it has its moments. The songs like "All My Tears" and "Orphan Girl" are great!
Release Date April 25, 1985
The 70's was a decade of excellent music, where creativity was at it's peak and for alot of groups good songwriting was at the forefront.
The quality of this group astounds me. The reason I went for this album is because the title track is catchy, but meaningful. My other favourites are Hollywood Waltz (superb lyrics, that really sums up some people), Lyin' Eyes (A superb classic), Visions (great rock song) and After the Thrill is Gone (a beautiful, apt song that instantly struck a chord with me). The whole group write, sing and play such fantastic songs and they all possess decent singing voices.
Unlike some groups the Eagles sing with feeling and you can tell they mean what they sing. It's no wonder Lyin' Eyes won an award ... Read More:

I Gotta tell You It Is A Good album For True Don Henley, Glenn Frey, Joe Walsh, And Timothy B Smihdt Fans.
The Eagles Have Changed Their Style But Still are One Of The Greatest Country/Southern Rock Artists To me In The World Today.
all of the songs on this album are amazingly done and performed very well.
it is well worth the buy for true eagles fans
and i love all the old music they wrote but times change!
Release Date October 27, 2003
I wouldn't say that this was the most 'Bluegrass' style CD that I have ever come across, but you will love this. Every track is fantastic.....a must have selection of tracks if you like Dolly Parton.
I love Bluegrass, and today's Bluegrass is very unlike the real true Bluegrass. So don't expect this album to give you that wonderful old sound....with incredible Banjo work etc.
But!....buy it anyway....it is a wonderful CD with that great Dolly singing voice.
Release Date September 29, 2004
The other reviwers really have hit the nail on the head --- this is a masterpiece of a concert from the queen of country music!
Great songs, great performance and the great lady herself is on top form.
This is a real must have for all Dolly fans.

An exellent compilation of the Outlaws' first five albums. These were the band's best albums in any case. Never quite able to equal their first superb eponymous debut album, the Outlaws still showed that they were unequalled for quality Country Rock in their heyday.
If you do like this material, I also recommend The Allman Brothers compilations and also get Molly Hatchet's Greatest Hits.
Release Date November 22, 1999
The last eight tracks (beginning with Dance the night away, which gave them a UK top five pop hit) summarize, in reverse order, the career of the Mavericks during the nineties. It includes three tracks from What a crying shame (the title track, There goes my heart, I should have been true), which remains the most popular of their albums in America. My favorite album, Music for all occasions, is represented by two tracks (Here comes the rain, All you ever do is bring me down). Two tracks from their commercial debut, From hell to paradise (the title track, This broken heart) complete a look at their music from 1991 to 1998.
This European compilation is based on an American compilation (Super colossal hits of the nineties) but has three extra tracks, (World without love, Are ... Read More:

I saw this artist on "Later" and was immediately struck by her talent, charm and, of course, the quality of her songs. I got her brilliant "Keep Your Silver Shined" album, which features the songs she'd played on the show, and an import copy of this album at the same time.
Originally released in 2003 this album made it into Rolling Stone's Critics Top Albums of that year. Believe it or not this is Devon Sproule's third album(although the first two were released under the name "Devon"), which makes "Keep Your Silver Shined" her Fourth.
This is a high quality album and quite different to KYSS(nice acronym!) it might be said to be a more straight forward singer-songwriter effort than her most recent work. The opening track had me hooked on a first play(it is ... Read More:
