Sugarland's debut album 'Twice The Speed'was different and sparkling and thoroughly enjoyable. It did have a few weaker moments. Thier second album 'Enjoy The Ride' was poor. It was one paced poor quality Bon Jovi type country rock although it had a few good moments. Thier third album, this one, is very good. It has variety, energy, good songs, some very good songs, with really good vocals from Jennifer Nettles. She is the voice of Sugarland, you rarely hear her duo partner. This has some of the better parts of the second album, has built on the first album and added to it. Really enjoyable and recommended.

For the uninitiated this is a great starting point, 51 tracks spread over 44 years showing a master lyricist at work. 90% of the selections are perfect and couldn't possibly have been left off but there are certainly some ommisions. Why only one track from Highway 61 revisited - even if that one track is Bob's best moment, Like a rolling stone. Surely Desolation Row should have featured and Ballad of a thin man. Three tracks from Oh Mercy is one or two too many and they're not even the best tracks. Brownsville Girl is a dodgy choice. Two other big ommisions are Mr Bojangles and Every grain of sand. And the choice of tracks from 'Modern Times' is poor with two of the weaker tracks making it - why no 'Working man's blues or Ain't talkin'. I suppose ... Read More:

Bob Dylan is one of those artists who elicit an almost spiritual devotion in his true fans and is constantly feted in the musical press( to a rather tedious degree in truth) but i can take him or leave him. There are Dylan albums i love just as there are Dylan albums whose critical acclaim leaves me rather baffled ( "Blonde on Blonde " for instance) Without doubt though the one Dylan album that i would listen to anytime anyplace is Nashville Skyline .
Released in 1969 it is Dylan's 9th studio album and marked a significant departure for Dylan into true rustic country music , although he had already marked a transition into this genre with John Wesley Harding. Dylan had also tired of being the spokesman of a generation so had relocated his family . The notion ... Read More:

It was the beginning of a new decade and, as Dickens wrote "it was best of times, it was the worst of times," CSN&Y has made it clear there would no more "Deja Vu"s and it was impossible not to be sad as having such stunning encounter of four songwriting talents stop their four-way magic at one single album. And then there were four solo beauties -except for Young's "After the Gold Rush," first albums for Crosby, Nash and Stills- that returned a smile to many of our grieving faces.
Although if compared to his feuding amigos I would not rate Stephen Still first solo recording the best of all four, there's nothing here that could not be considered absolutely impeccable. Furthermore, as musical breadth goes, this album show unequivocally Stills' capacity and deep ... Read More:

The Best of Jools Holland was conceived as a collection of the work he had issued under various independent record labels on signing a deal with major label WEA. It is quite a bizarre collection in that it contains `Heartbreaking World' from the Squeeze reformation album `Cosi Fan Tutti Frutti' without mentioning the word Squeeze at all. To include a Squeeze track at all seems quite strange and if the A&M catalogue was available then either `Hop, Skip and Jump' or `Wrong Side of the Moon' from Jools' first stint in Squeeze would have fitted better with the Boogie Woogie flavour of this album. Also if the A&M catalogue was available it is strange that none of Jools' first solo work with the Millionaires should be included, particularly considering all of the artwork from this period is ... Neil emerged from the dark brilliance of his brooding mid-seventies period to make his most accessible album since Harvest. If he is mostly known for folk, country, and rock, this album is firmly rooted in the folk/country categories, which he does as well as anyone.
This is a very fine album that demonstrates that Young can still be deeply reflective whilst maintaining a mellow - though never bland - approach to the music. As well as a great couple of openers, look out for Four Strong Winds, a country standard that perfectly fits the tone of the album.

I have owned this great CD for a few months now,I play other CDs in my car but this one always finds it's way back as my most popular,(you know, the one that's sort of always there in the CD player)I just never get fed up of listening to it.

In terms of consistency I would say this is the best Eagles album. All the songs are great and the whole album can be listened to without having to forward past the odd filler - which IMHO can't be said for any other Eagles album.
My second favourite album would probably be One Of These Nights. Sure Hotel California is a great album (Hotel is one my all time favourite songs) but Desperado and One Of These Nights for me these definately have the edge overall. I'm also in total agreement with one of the other reviewers - the Doolin Dalton reprise at the end is magic!

I bought this album when it first came out last year. The CD works well, with some great songs and a fresh, lively sound. I prefer it to her first album, and the DVD is a quality bonus, an interesting and inspiring video of the recording. The beat box demo prompted my son to buy one and incorporate it very successfully into his own stage act! The new album is due out shortly, but you'd be a fool not to get it at this price.
