Excelente para todo amante de la samba y esos sabrosos ritmos de la costa de Rio de Janeiro, esta es la pura musica brasilera, cantada en el mas puro portugués y que a mi en lo personal, me relaja muchisimo y me transporta a un clima tropical, a una playa relajada y sobre todo esa tremenda nostalgia que produce este tipo de musica; por cierto, me recuerda mucho a Sergio Mendes y Brazil'66; Bebel Gilberto nos da un album verdaderamente introspectivo, donde plasma lo mejor de su sentimiento y sus raíces cariocas, para mi uno de sus mejores trabajos como cantante... y compositora!!! It's inevitable, that's some artist began to fade in the radio airwaves, but not in the memory of true fans. Her highly catchy songs keep listeners dancing for a long time ("1,2,3", "Rhythm Is Gonna Get You"). Her ballads are very soulful, sung very expressively ("Don't Wanna Lose You"). Every track on this album is timeless. However, she never writes or performs a bad song. She proves that with or without The Miami Sound Machine, she excels at music beautifully. Having bought "Insomniac" and liked it, I have now got "7". This is equally as good and is full of strong tracks. From upbeat rocky numbers to ballads these are all there and sound very polished and atmospheric. If you liked his hit singles get all three of his English albums. You wont regret it! I have also bought "Escape" and it is right up there too!

Os Mutantes were formed in Sao Paulo, Brazil, in 1965, and were the forerunners of the Brazillian culture phenomenon known as Tropicalia. But what is this Tropicalia you speak? Well Tropicalia was a cultural revolution in Brazil in the mid to late sixties which not only affected music, but all areas of the arts, giving pieces a more deeper meaning and giving its creators a reason to push the boundaries for what was possible.

There is no bigger example of the Tropicalia movement then Os Mutantes' debut in 1968, their self titled album is little known outside of Brazil, but I have had the album 4 weeks and I am absolutely smitten by it, which has left me thinking that if this was an English speaking album, this would probably be heralded ... Mi Sangre

I bought this for Camisa Negra which I love and hoped that more tracks would be in the same style. Unfortunately not so. But it is an interesting mix of very different styles, sure to please a varied audience. I must say other than the above song the best pieces were the bonus tracks from the Un Dia Normal album. The sound on it was much more pleasant. I did not like the symphony like accompanyment on Mi Sangre. Too much orchestra, prefer hearing guitar and vocals and percussion.
AFTER LISTENING TO THIS FOR AWHILE- I love it!! Some of the most beautiful songs are the slower ones. So I definitely recommend it to everyone who loves latin music. Definite Colombian flavour!! Great Stuff.
