I first watched Eros 'Live in Rome' with trepidation. From revues here. We are in our sixties! A brilliant concert, wish I could have been their. Bought a CD of his not realising it was the same sound track. Delighted that I have the best of both worlds with Eros. Have bought more of his CD's since then and have not been disappointed, only hope we see him again soon on DVD. A great entertainer. Also loved him on 'Pavarotti & Friends'. Cannot understand a word he sings but now beginning to sing along.

Well, it's a VERY long story. I 'accidently' clicked on this album and then 'accidently' read ALL the reviews, before 'unintentionally' preceeding through the whole checkout procedure until I 'mistakenly' pressed purchase! Stupid me! You can imagine how I felt when I waited for the CD to arrive, hoping no one would get to the post before me and thus revealing my apparent bad taste in music! Luckily that moment never came, although I thought twice about opening the package due to my 'unintentional' purchase. When I did, well it was like I was born again. You see, I'm a DAD and now thanks to this mesmeric album I feel COOLER than ever. My kids think I'm daft as I gyrate round the living room, my (now ex) wife thought I was a total fool for swaying ... I must make it clear at the outset that I don't possess this album, which contains 28 of the 66 tracks Paco has recorded in his five basic (i.e. not anthologised) recordings for Nimbus. I do, however, possess those five albums (in fact, all of Paco's albums since his first in 1968); and since as I write no other review has appeared, I venture to add some information.
I should also say that I contributed both booklet notes and a cover photograph to the Nimbus albums, so I refrain from comment on the quality of the music or the recordings.
As far as I can make out, this selection comprises the following:
7 tracks from Music of Ramón Montoya & Niño Ricardo, 1987
7 tracks from Azahara, 1988

Gidon Kremer has long championed the dancehall/whorehouse music of Astor Piazzolla, and in this disc he combines this (guilty?) pleasure with another of his hobbies, the creation of clever combinations of very different types of music. In this disc, he interweaves Vivaldi's Four Seasons with Piazzolla's to superb effect. The result casts Vivaldi's music in a new light, while persuasively demonstrating that Piazzolla's music is most definitely contemporary classical, as worthy of serious consideration as that of John Adams, Philip Glass or Gavin Bryars.
Kremer and his house band, Kremerata Baltica, deliver brilliant performances, and the recordings are faultless. A surprising gem of a disc, and one that could push you toward other ... Read More:

on my cd player, the bass on this CD ( and I tried two CDs of this recording) emerge as big clouds of static which make listening very unpleasant. I tried Vinicius C's CDs Silva, and Horse and Fish, same thing. This is the first time I've encountered this problem with CDs and I own close to a thousand CDs. It must be some quirky thing with Vinicius' recordings.

The picture is great but in most of the songs the sound is bad when Shakira sing to close to the microphone you just have to turn the volume down because of the noise.

the boys are evolving and this is where it all seems to begin as the basslines start to get bolstered with guitar riffs and the much more prominant use of sampled strings to form the melodies starts to kick in. the raps are still there and at the high end of quality, the humour is starting to kick back in again witness Dr.Greenthumb (awesome song) and the boys sound vital again not paranoid not overwhelmed but enjoying the game. probably helps that this album was recorded with the fresh return of sen dog and b-real had got the last of his issues out of the way on the psycho realm project (well worth checking out too) and they could all return to their day jobs.
