I was watching a film & there was this beautiful song playing in the background. I spent some time trying to find out who & what it was, and finally I found Laura Pausini !

This is the only foreign language cd I have; I don't understand a word of it, but it just doesn't matter, it's really beautiful, particularly tracks 11 & 13 - my current favourite album.

I cannot add any more superlatives to the ones that have already been given to this Grammy-winning album. It is a release that never falters; every cut is worthy of inclusion.

Being a forty-year fan of Sergio Mendes has given me a slightly bent bias toward him and everything that he has done. The current crop of popular Latin artists needs to give credit to this trailblazer and master musician.

I'm glad that new musicians, like Will.i.am are discovering Mendes's sound and bringing him again to the masses.

This varied collection of songs from Cape Verdean musicians is one of my all time favourites. It goes wonderfully with the setting sun on a warm summer evening, but can give you that same feeling when the sky is grey and the rain is falling. Enjoy with ice and a slice of lemon!

Lhasa has to have one of the most amazing, deep, sensual voices in existence. Con Toda Palabra, La Maree Huate, and Soon This Space Will Be Too Small are the best tracks, although they're likely to make even the most stiff of upper lips shed a few tears. They don't make them like this anymore.

If you are not so sure about Bossa Nova music, then I can recommend this album for the Ice Cool versions it present of Mas Que Nada, Wichita Lineman, the Beatles songs and especially Scarborough Fair. They are stunning!
