I bought this album and it will not play on my CD player and when I put in in my PC it installed software without telling me. This type of CD should be avoided and Amazon should warn people about these defective CD's. I have sent it back!

I hate dancing, and never buy "dance" music. This is also a great pop record full of memorable tunes and quality arrangements. It's a world music festival on a disc, and even if you find some world music hard work, there nothing not to like here. It's all fresh, fun, poppy and accessible.

The Mavericks' reunion album, after a four year break and a patchy solo album from Raul Malo, turns out to be a bit of a disappointment for anyone who loved the Cuban-rock-latin influenced "Trampoline" or the humour and Tex-Mex tinged "Music For All Occasions". On first listenings it is very derivative of all four main albums that brought them fame, and a watered-down derivative at that.
Lead track, "I Want To Know" has the characteristic Maverick twangy guitar and beat, but it's a twee pop song worthy of a place on an Archies album. "In My Dreams" has the "What A Crying Shame" intro and similar tune. "Shine A Light" and "San Jose" have chugging latin beats; "Because Of You" is an old-fashioned 'broken hearts' country & western honky ... Read More:

Another great CD full of popular tunes from the caribbean. It makes you feel like you are there dancing under the palm trees. If you have been on holiday to the Carribean last year or early this year, you will recognise most of the tunes as they are played on the local radio over there. All the tunes are good and lively. My favourite is the last track "Dont call my phone". WELL WORTH BUYING!

Finally one good recording of the complete cycle of the Bachianas Brasileiras . The recording conducted by the author was the best recording available , but Villa - Lobos wasn't a good conductor .The musicality is really good, but the orchestra sounds bad in some moments and the sound is very old. After the recordings of several conductors sometimes good sometimes bad, we have here the entire cycle very well played
Bachianas Nº 1 , for cellos , was at the beginning one homage to the Preludes And Fugues by Bach, but the author wrote after the first movement. From the Preludes and Fugue now we have the structure of a Concerto. The first Bachianas is the only one condcted by Andrew Mogrelia, since Kenneth Schermerhorn died before the recording finished.Andrew ... Read More:

This is the album which broke Eros Ramazzotti out of the niche latin market onto the worldwide stage; "Piu Bella Cosa" even got several airplays in the UK! A rich, meticulously-crafted oeuvre, it also marks the artist's newly-acquired control over all production values, and it shows throughout. From the opening driving chords of "Dove 'ce Musica", the album swerves through merengue and salsa (but always with a contemporary feel; "Yo Sin Ti"), with the odd nod to techno/house. What really stands out, however, are the ballads ("Stella Gemella", "L'Aurora" are shining examples) which do most justice to the sheer quality of Ramazzotti's singing voice. An album which simply makes you feel good after every listen, ... Read More:
