Calma Apparente

I thought the ER9S album would be tough to follow, it started a new fresh chapter in Eros's music. Calma Apparente has continued that trend with fresher, younger sounds. Best tracks for me are "La Nostra Vita", "Solarita", "I Belong To You" (brilliant duet with Anastacia!!) "Una Nuova Età", "Non È Amore" and "Beata Solitudine". I'm sure I'll grow to like the others as well.

Bravo Eros!! Until the next album!!

Without reaching the overall quality level of Suba or Bebel Gilberto or the various artist signed by belgian label Ziriguiboom , this album lets you peek into this new moody beautiful sound coming from Brazil. Track 1 and 3 will drop in your ear never to get out again. No famous name, but some that should deserve to break through (Friends from Rio in particular)
At that price, NOT TO BE MISSED!!!

Border - La Linea

This is the best abum I have bought in years. Every single track is a winner AND it is over an hour long. It took me a little while to fully appreciate it, but now I cannot stop playing it. Also, it being mostly in Spanish, it is hard to remember and so it seems to stay fresh. Aside from Lila's amazing voice the musicians are first rate. I saw her at the WOMAD Festival in 2002 which is how I discovered her, but this album is the best.

I only got this album for the Spanish language songs most of which are great.My kids won't stop playing La Vida Loca though and are driving me mad!!
If you want to party Latin style this one's for you. For me though there's too many dance tracks.

A superb introduction to the mellow bossa nova inspired swing of Sergio Mendes and Brasil 66. This is classic sixties easy listening, by turns cheesy, delightfully innocent and dynamic. And does it swing - from the massive hit Mas Que Nada (well known to footie fans amongst others) to a cool cover of the Beatles' Day Tripper via such smooth Brasilian flavoured treats as Agua de Beber and O Pato. It's thrilling stuff and some of the most glorious latin pop of the era.
