I HAVE A SERGIO MENDES ALBUM FROM THE LATE 60`s . WHEN HIS BAND WAS NAMED "Sergio Mendes and Brazil 66" BUT IT`s ON VINYL AND I HAVE`nt GOT ANYTHING TO PLAY IT ON NOW. SO WHEN THIS WAS LISTED IN THE 3 C.D`s FOR £10 SECTION I THOUGHT I WOULD BUY IT TO BRING BACK OLD MEMORIES. I AM PLEASED I DID. HIS MUSIC BRINGS THE SUN OUT EVEN IF IT`s RAINING. SO MUCH OF HIS MUSIC IS USED AS BACKING TRACKS BY T.V ADVERTISERS & PROGRAM MAKERS,
THAT HIS MUSIC IS THOUGHT TO BE COOL AGAIN. THIS C.D HAS ALL HIS GREAT MUSIC ON.
JUST LISTEN TO THE FIRST TRACK `Mas Que Nada` IT`s WORTH BUYING THIS C.D JUST FOR THAT.THEN LISTEN TO HIS INTERPRETATION ON BEATLES CLASSICS LIKE `DAY TRIPPER / NORWEGIAN WOOD / FOOL ON THE HILL / WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM ... Read More:
Living in Oman, working in Abu Dhabi & Dubai/ U.A. Emirates, travelling all over the Gulf region and the Middle East I like to discuss with my Arabian friends and customers about traditional-classic and modern popmusic of both cultures - the Western (European & North American) and the Oriental culture.
We enjoy to listen to the best and world famous opera singers and the most popular modern popmusic singers. My friends in Arabia like ZUCCHERO`s music - they love Italo popmusic!
.......ZUCCHERO - a portrait:
His pseudonym "Zucchero", meaning 'sugar', has been his nickname from a very young age, and was given to him by an elementary school teacher who said he was as sweet as sugar, ... Read More:

So... you're lazing in front of your fire on a cold winter's evening or reclining on your sun-lounger on a hot summer's afternoon and you want to hear something equally laid-back & carefree. Well, here it is... a set of wonderfully romantic interpretations of mid 60's classics infused with Jose Feliciano's languidly beautiful guitar playing & singing. You know the songs - so there's no demands and no surprises - and his style is so inherently relaxing that it's a perfect accompaniment for the mood you're in. Nothing more or less in fact than MOR music at its very best and, as with the "very best" of any style of music, it's quite brilliant!

The picture is great but in most of the songs the sound is bad when Shakira sing to close to the microphone you just have to turn the volume down because of the noise.

I didn't like this cd the first time I heard it and this was because, like many of Gloria Estefan's albums, there was a big variety of original singing styles and sounds to get used to. And this is of course why It Cuts Both Ways is a success - as with her other albums,it is very, very difficult to get bored with what you are listening to.
My favourite track:Don't Wanna Lose you.I'm sure that this cd will win over most people who purchase it.
I have fallen into Gilberto's music since my studies in Rio de Janeiro! It reminds me to a lot of interesting Brazilian people, to fun at the beaches, to travels all over Brazil (Recife, Salvador de Bahia), to Brazilian friends, ....
.... a portrait of GILBERTO GIL
Born in Salvador, Gilberto Gil spent his childhood in the countryside of Bahia, where he became interested in the towns bands and in what he listened to on the radio. At age 9, he moves to Salvador with his sister to finish school, and starts taking accordion lessons. In his youth, he intensifies his music studies and, at age 18, forms the group Os Desafinados. By the end of the 50s, Joao Gilberto turns into a huge influence for Gil, who promptly starts playing ... Read More:
