Which is exactly what I bought it for. I felt something was missing from my CD collection and it has been filled by a collection of beautiful cuban music. Excellent to chill out to on a hot summery day. You will even probably recognise a few tracks or a few of the hooks from tracks used in todays music or even from a few adverts.

Highly recommended.

saw this guy live in London and he was enthralling from start to end. he's got this punk vibe going on, swaggering all over the stage and he plays tango with this dark edge. great voice and the cd doesnt disappoint. superb!

This is the best collection of christmas songs I've heard and a lovely collection.What makes it so good is the lively,soft sounding and colourful music which contrasts with Gloria's husky,high-pitched voice,and the leisurely pace at which the lyrics are sung."I'll Be Home For Christmas" was my favourite song but they are all a treat and worth listening to at any time of year.

The Legends of Gypsy Flamenco

This does not cover all of the greats of Gypsy Flamenco by a long shot. Camaron De La Isla is not there, nor is La Nina De Los Peines, Lole y Manuel, Tomatito...the list goes on... However, this is still a good introduction to the true Gypsy folk flamenco and it has tracks from artists who are hard to find on record outside of Spain. The great La Paquera De Jerez is one good example. It's a good selection, including guitar tracks by Manitas De Plata that would make Eric Clapton, Andres Segovia and anyone else who knows how to play guitar stand to attention. The price is right. Just don't listen to it thinking that it covers the whole picture of genres and greats. That would take a hundred-CD box set (at least).

Putumayo Presents Tango Around the World

This CD has 11 tracks nine of which are quite superb. If it were possible I would've given it 9 stars. It is a great buy just to listen to. However if you are a tango dancer it is a little bit more complicated. So if you are a self appointed guardian of the purity of tango music and think not a single piece of music written after 1st Jan 1950 is worthy of the title "tango" then steer well clear of this CD. If however you have been born with imagination and an ear capable of listening & a rudimentary sense of rhythm you will enjoy dancing to this selection greatly.

Had I not heard Gotan Project before this I suspect I would have been a good deal more impressed. Unfortunately I had and was seduced by many references to and comparisons with Gotan and then really, really disappointed. If you want tango-electronica, go for Gotan, you won't need to bother with this.

This 19-track version of the album collects all of Enrique's Latin Billboard no. 1 hits, from his 1995 debut album up to 2007's Insomniac as well as having two great new songs, Donde Estan Corazon and Lloro Por Ti. All his best known Spanish-language tracks are here: Experiencia Religiosa, Por Amarte, Nunca Te Olvidare, Esperanza, Heroe etc. The only English one is Bailamos as this is intended mainly as a collection of his Spanish songs. Personally, I'm just delighted to finally have so many of my favourite songs on one disc! The DVD is good too, it includes two songs, Escapar and Alguien Soy Yo which are not on the album for extra variety as well as the Donde Estan Corazon video which complements the poignancy of the song.
