I purchased because someone on Amazon.de gave it 4 stars. Why I don't know.
It is a combination of at least 2 different live concerts intermixed to provide (or try to provide) a reasonable mix of this legends songs. The video quality is dated. The sound quality changes between each song and ranges from, at best, reasonable to rather poor - sometimes your watching a video shot of the orchestra playing but little sound of the orchestra comes through.

Frankly this is a poor affair which I will be dropping off at my nearest Oxfam shop.

The original CD release of R.E.M.'s 2001 album, REVEAL, was musically astonishing; lush, sun drenched, yet eriee and moody. Perhaps it's only fault was that it was a touch over-produced, and the songs felt 'constructed' out of the same effects and studio craft that overpowered the songs on UP. That doesn't stop REVEAL from being one of R.E.M.'s best moments, though, an album that captures perfectly the feeling of warmth that makes it a summer record. The songwriting is spot-on, with pieces like Saturn Return, I've Been High and Chorus and the Ring standing up to the brilliance of AUTOMATIC.

If you're looking for a surround sound experience of Mr Grofe's music, you won't find it here. This is in essence a stereo mix with some "ambience" in the rear speakers.

Rather choose your favourite CD version and switch on Pro Logic - you'll get the same effect or better.

There are far better recordings of these works.

The difference is vast - DVD-A is not data reduced - the mix is lossless, and what you hear is exactly what you would have heard in the studio with DVD-A. With DTS-CD - good as it is - the data has been lossy-encoded which means data was thrown away. You *must* have a DTS decoder to be able to play this title.
