This is Neil at his best and with a fine backing band this album is superb!The opener "Cowgirl in the sand" is as stunning as usual and Ben Keith plays some fine rhythm guitar alongsides Neil's intense vocals and lead guitar.The version of "Words" is amazing and yet again Neil is in fine voice and the guitar work is more direct than on "Harvest".Another amazing version is "Tonight's the night"which sticks pretty closely to the album version with Neil on Piano and Ben Keith playing the most amazing slide guitar.This is just as spooky as the original !
A blistering version of Dylan's "all along the Watchtower" ends this fantastic album with Chrissie Hynde the guest artist

The Very Best Of...The Searchers [DVD AUDIO]

First the good news. The sound quality is excellent and the choice of tracks is good. If you are not familiar with the Searchers' 1960's output then this is a reasonable starting point although the concentration is on their earliest Pye recordings. The visual material is very disappointing and there is very little information given about the band and the tracks so the potential of the DVD format is not exploited. One oddity - on the mix of Needles and Pins, unlike the single version, Mike Pender's vocal is not double tracked and there is no harmony vocal from Chris Curtis. All this makes it look like very little care and attention was devoted to putting this package together.

Sugar Rush

It has a lot of songs you hear (mostly series 1) from Sugar Rush. BUT the most known, most important song is missing - Blondie's One Way Or Another - the theme what makes Sugar Rush is not on the soundtrack, and that is very disappointing.
