I brought this DVD Audio the other day regardless of the other comments left by other customers and I'm so glad I did. The music is simply fantastic and Frank Sinatra has (unless you were lucky enough to see him in concert) never sounded better.
I can understand some other customers not being inpressed with the features and quality at first. It would appear that the DVD is formatted to play automatically in standard stereo and not full surround sound. However if you go into the DVD players sound set-up menu you can alter the playback from standard DVD to the superb mutli-channel DVD Audio.
This DVD Audio just sounds fantastic when set-up correctly and the still images used to compliment the music are a great addition. It ... Read More:

For the price it was worth a gamble - and I did suspect that the source material would not be good enough to transfer to DVD-A foramt. My stero versions of these tracks sound better through my amps 5 speaker stereo mode.
Mostly the rear speakers are providing infill echo - occasionally some discrete instruments - and often emphasising slight distortions on the orginal tapes. The Bass output is strong but often too dominant (needs turning down) I would imagine many of the source tapes for this mix were mono. Not one to get just for the DVD-A experience.

Initially released back in 1983, this is a wonderful re-issue on DVD-Audio format for her Platinum selling, Grammy Award winning album. Linda proves herself to be the ideal interpreter of these classic songs, lushly orchestrated by Nelson Riddle. The album was followed by two others of similar material, each critically and commercially successful. The ideal accompaniment to a quiet romantic evening by the fireside with a loved one.
Additional features include several enhanced, remastered audio tracks (some only playable on latest DVD-Audio compatible players), photo gallery and the video single for the title track "What's New"

Fabulous exciting music, fabulous exciting crystal clear sound! Chicago were one of the premier jazz rock bands in the early seventies, and among the best American artists along with Jimi Hendrix, CCR and Santana - a must have for any DVD-Audio rock collection - buy it now!

Alan Parsons Project made two very good albums under their career; "Tales of mystery and imagination" and "Turn of a friendly card". Their other albums, unfortunately, only ranks somewhere between OK and completely uninteresting. This is their least good one. Nothing happens. I actually don't like one single song on this whole record. Buy their other albums first!

I'm a newcomer to Bowie, but i think this is the best live album i've ever heard, its up there with Paris Au Printemps by PiL and Live at Leeds by the Who for performance/setlist etc(when can we have those in 5.1? please!) and for recording quality its absolutely the best of any live album i've ever heard
its also the best 5.1 release i've heard so far, i own DVD-A's by the police, crowded house, stone temple pilots, sometimes they can sound cold/clinical and uninvolving, "stage" is everything i wanted from 5.1 audio when i first bought surround sound equipment, its totally involving, it really draws you in.
i never heard the original criticised version so i can't comment.
I have the "David Live" DVD-A and theres ... Read More:
