Have the vinyl. Now got the CD and its still timeless. I have many favourites. Love "I am singing" this sums up stevies life in music.
The song writing is 1st class. in my view far better than Lennon/Mccartney ever were. This guy does the lot himself. This album should be in every collection. best selling double album of all time, i believe. Well justified.

Having had Happy Families and Mange Tout on vinyl for some time, and disposed of their ill-advised third album, Believe You Me, after one listen, I was wary about buying a 'best of'. However this budget issue is a real gem, the sound quality is sympathetically mastered and picks up some of the layers of ethnic percussion my poor old stylus never quite got hold of! What's also good is this album collates all the real hits in the first 8 or 9 tracks, then adds some interesting (ok, "Now Get Out Of That" is fairly dire) b-sides, then some choice album tracks and even a 1990 farewall song. The irony of this title "Your Time Has Gone" just reaffirms Neil's often tongue-in-cheek lyrics, although his approach to the dark subject matter on "Running Thin" is extremely ... Read More:

Besides the obvious highlight, 'Enola Gay', most of this is mediocre 80's synth, grating and dated-sounding.
The synth grates after a while, and the likes of 'Messages' is repetitive and hokey, without even any lyrics to drag it above average. 'Souveneir sounds like something you would hear playing in B&Q or General George, utterly banal.
The vocals are unpleasant, and the rest of the album plays out in the same way, so inoffensive it's offensive. Droning synth-by-numbers.

Unkle follow the amazing War Stories with their latest collection 'End Titles' and it is just as good as its predecessor, in fact its probably a more coherent 'album' (despite what Lavelle says), The guest vocals of Gavin Clark on 5 tracks give the whole CD its core with 'Against the Grain' particularly beautiful. Having heard some of these tracks on earlier releases (tracks 5, 6, 7 & 8 but 8 has new vocals from Josh Homme) does not detract from this or any other Unkle release for me. They are reference points for the new material and it all very quickly sweeps the listener along and delivers everything the fan has come to expect from Lavelle & co. The glam riffs and breathy vocals are retained with Ghosts (James singing again I think) reminding me of Love & Rockets ... Read More:

Was really disappointed in this album! I've loved Jamie Lidell from the beginning and my heart sank when I put this on. I can't help thinking it was the completely wrong direction to go from Multiply. Now Lidell's scrapped any essence of his original, techno driven creativity and replaced it with rather syrupy, bland pop soul. I've listened to Jim a few times thinking that it may suddenly click but it hasn't, and won't! James Pants is definitely the way forward now I think.

The Dewaele brothers hail from Belgium and are better known as Soulwax or 2 many Dj's in the clubs. Famous for their eclectic and inventive Dj sets they have also amassed an impressive back catalogue of original productions and remixes for other artists. As the title suggests, most of those remixes are featured here as glorious 12" versions! Yay!
Most of the tracks are a frantic mash up of rock, techno and pop and the Soulwax sound is original and well produced. Particular highlights include an electro re-working of Gorillaz 'Dare', a bonkers rave remix of Robbie Williams' cover of 'Lovelight' and the dance version of Gossip's 'Standing in the Way of Control' as used on TV drama Skins marketing campaign. All the tracks on CD 1 are good except maybe the Sugababes 'Round Round' which ... Read More:
