This is my favourite of the 2 Specials albums. 'More Specials' is quirkier, but this is equally fun and more up-tempo. I love to leap around to this record at every oportunity, (much to the annoyance of my neighbours). I could wiffle on about all of the profound lyrics and such and Terry Hall's deadpan style, but once you buy this record then you will find out for yourself. Suffice to say that this record is well worth getting for your collection. If you like that 2 tone sound, then it really doesn't get any better than this. And at this price it is a steal!!!!

When I heard the magestic 'We own the Sky' with it's enchanting 'Frazier Chorus' type vocals and sweeping synths, I thought "Woaah, who is this?"
On buying the album, I was a bit put off by the moody looking students on the cover. I thought surely it's not this miserable lot?
I found out thankfully it wasn't. Looking at the album credit's. I noticed a certain Tom Bailey in there. Could that be 'The Thompson Twins' lead singer and musician involved in this I wonder.
There is a couple of songs sang sweetly by a female which are okay. But it's mostly sung by multi-instrumentalist Anthony Gonzalez.
I think the main strengths are his dreamy type vocals with piano and string type synths. The quieter songs have some loverly melodies. ... Read More:

Of all my 22 years have I heard an album quite like this. I have had this album for approx 8 months and it has not moved from my CD player!
I can not think of any RnB artist which has had this major effect on myself! I cant even pick a favourite song as they are all soooo brillant!
Keep up the good work Ne-Yo and i will be buying your next album with hesitation.

As with all who have felt compelled to add their thoughts on this amazing double CD, I too find it timeless and one of those rare collections you will never get tired of.
We often drive upto Wales (usually leave around 8pm and get to mid Ceredigian around midnight) and this collection, specially Part 1, is reserved for the last hour or so....nothing like rolling through the night to this sound :)
Hope everyone gets to experience these sounds....thanks to the Bear for recommending it :)

The first single from this album, The Winner Takes It All, is considered one of the group's best songs. It returned them to the top of the UK singles charts after an absence of two and a half years and six near-misses. The album itself, coming on the back of Abba's immensely successful 1979 tour, was a massive hit and broke records in advanced orders.
However, the rest of the album just doesn't live up to the promise of the first single. A new maturity was evident, with lyrics becoming more personal, but there are more fillers than classics here. I'm not a fan of the dreadful title track, despite the fact it was their last UK Number 1. Me and I and The Way Old Friends Do are also not up to Abba's high standards. Other than The Winner Takes It ... Read More:

If you want a feel good, chilled, happy album - this is the album for you.
Sia's voice is evidently incredible, and this album shows this off perfectly.
You know that with each song you have her heart too.
There are no 'filler' tracks in this album; every single track is magical and spell-binding.
This is the kind of album you could play at a dinner party, but it has a slight left-field flair to it - its quirky & charming but elegant at the same time.
For chilling out I recommend 'Day Too Soon', 'Lullaby' (the piano is stunning & compliments her voice perfectly), and 'Beautiful Calm Driving'.
For more upbeat moments, I recommend 'Death By Chocolate' & 'Playground' (it brings you back to your childhood!)
And for ... Read More:
