So I've just moved home and my record collection is in complete disaray.
I want to listen to something before going on a big (and I mean big) night out but I can't find anything
Then I see this. I haven't listened to this for years. In fact I'm not sure I've lisened to it since I got it from a charity shop (where most of my vinyl comes from) about eight years ago.
It sounds wonderful. If you have this record I suggest that you put it on now.
Nothing needs to be said about Grace Jones, a woman whose image eventually overcame the music until all most people can remember is her attacking Russell Harty.
The music, however, is a dark slinky gem.

This is the most thrilling, exciting sound I have heard in ages. What amazing talent and energy! I cannot stop playing it night or day, it is so uplifting.
Even when I am not playing it, the rhythms and melodies keep coming into my head and I find myself nodding,tapping my feet or drumming with my fingers in tempo. The sound quality in general is absolutely superb, however, can anyone explain the small blip of interference between track 2 and 3 ? It only lasts a few seconds but I think this couple deserve perfection in the recording of their performance. I was also a little disappointed in the quality of the DVD production.
In spite of these criticisms I heartily recommend this album and still give it five stars!

Man Like I

I don't normally listen to Reggae, though this album is not exactly pure Reggae. From the first listening and from the first track, almost every track put a smile on my face - this is an uplifting album with that "Summer Feeling" to it. Natty's voice has a fun, laddish feel to it that it's hard not to like.

With a few listens and getting into the lyrics, the feel-good is sometimes only skin-deep. There's some strong social commentary in there too.

You'll probably enjoy this, whatever your usual musical tastes.

i must say that i were quite unexpected to the bold ear. when i heard this music come from this disc i thought "how could it be?". the Orinoco flow and the other song, i thought "this cant be. what have i done?". i then thought to myself "why is orinoco flow here but STARS ARE BLIND are not here?". then it occurred to me... i had not purchased Paris Hilton's album. i had indeed accidentally purchased enya's lumpy turd of an album and felt repulsed and publicly humiliated.

as i was jamming to Kate Nash in my room an hour later i decided to Frisbee Anya's CD in my cats little box and they excreeted on the disc. i have now found good use to this disc. i use it as a scooper to scoop up cat turds and i have dissembled the case and put the booklets of Paris Hilton's in ... i was amazed with this album...and still am...she has done a fantastic job here,i actually found some tracks mesmerising which i cant say for many album tracks,i have to place this on my all time favourite album list(and very high up too!!)i love it.
the tracks-
High & Mighty-4/5-brings us into the album and it has a great beat that really lures you in.

into the nightlife-5/5-possibly my favourite song by her,very good dance track and a classic...i hope it does well in the UK(sure it will).

Rocking chair-5/5-another one of her best songs and definately one of my favourite songs of hers...love this song"rock me here,rock me there,rock me in my rocking chair."classic.

Lyfe-4/5-very good track and very urban feel.

Personly this is my favourite Bob marley album there all good(exellent)but this is the best with classics like EXODUS/THREE LITTLE BIRDS/ONE LOVE/WAITING IN VAIN/JAMMING you tell me there not some of marleys best work?so this is a must, but if your a big fan like me you'll get them all.
