Well I've always loved Mariah, Celine and Leona, but i've never really warmed up to Whitney, i think i love the high screaming nutters! lol.
But yes, this is a great collection of hits from Ms. Houston.
I will always love you being the most impressive, and theres a few gems on here that i'd never heard before like "Its not Right But its okay" , "How Will I Know" and a few more. There are some which i dont like at all such as "count on me" (even though its nice) and im sick of hearing "Run To you"!! But she will go down as a classic.
Even though she is amazing, i do still believe Celine has more power, Mariah has more range and Leona- well we havent seen the best of leona yet... She is better than Christina Aguilera and Aretha ... Read More:

I have to agree with the reviewer "El Burrito" here. I too have been trying to understand "what all the fuss is about". I have been searching for something catchy about this album but am struggling to find it. The first track Northern Swing is a promising number however in my opinion none of the other tracks live up to it. Generally speaking I find that if an album such as 'Turntable Soul Music' has been reviewed twelve times on Amazon, eleven of which have favorable reviews that this is usually a good indicator to whether an album is worth buying or not. However in this case I'm guessing all the favorable reviews came from mates of the band or such like....?

There's no doubting the quality of the material on this best of EWF. Fantasy,Let groove,Boogie wonderland,After the love has gone..all the big hits are here, yet this album is missing loads more classic EWF songs that could have made this a 5 star album..i only knocked a star off coz of the glaring ommisions on this. Oddly, Shining star which was one of their biggest hits is stangely absent and what about Serpentine fire,Loves holiday,Loves magic,Lady sun,A song in my heart,Take it to the sky,You,Getaway,Something special and so on!! I hope one day someone will release an antology which will do the band justice. If your new to EWF then this is a good introduction..as i said all the big hits bar one or two are here but if you like the bulk of this CD then i urge ... Read More:

I agree with the reviewer below in that some of HK's recent releases have been slightly dodgy and appear to be cashing in on the rise in popularity of funky house music. Die hard fans have been complaining for months about the acquisition of the brand from ailing and tyrannical parent MoS, but it seems that the producers of this album have been given a more free reign to take HK back to its roots.
I'm glad CD1 wasn't reprasentative of the whole album, with lots of fairly commercial "heard it all before" tracks, only saved by decent mixing, however CD2 and 3 are subliminal. Never have Hed Kandi been this funky, the only comparison I can think of is HK: The Mix 50, another brilliant compilation. Tracks from Dervish, Bel Amour, Doc Da Funk, Stonebridge & ... Read More:

The original UK Arista 9 song vinyl album was flawless. A fantastic collection of songs. This Edsel CD reissue Into the Gap is everything a CD transfer should not be.
One of the main attractions of the vinyl issue (and of the Thompson Twins in general) was it's lovely bass content together with a crisp top end (which fitted the punchy dance aspect of the music perfectly). This Edsel CD reissue has litterally stripped away almost all of the bass and boosted the top end to a daft level. The result: this Edsel CD made my left ear rattle because of the distortion. Really awful.
No other CD I have ever bought or heard has sounded quite so lousy (with the exception of T.Rex - 'Dandy In The Underworld' - also on the Edsel label). Even very old ... Read More:

3 CDs of absolute classic ska. With the sheer volume of tracks this set provides, its a bargain. This is the real deal.A good cross section of Jamaican ska, with some tracks better known than others (perhaps) but don't let that put you off. If you have only heard the tracks that have also appeared on other ska compilations & you liked them, then the rest of this collection is a must.
This is a really expansive collection of quality ska music & Trojan have done a great job in selecting the tracks for this set.If you enjoy this , then the Rude Boy box set is also worth a punt.

This is a really bad news compilation; I received it 24 hours ago and my legs haven't stopped moving yet. If this is truly what you got at Blackpool Mecca I doubt if I could have survived - even with a sackful of leapers - but I would have died a happy man.
25 fantastic tracks, unfortunately Van McCoy's stupendous 'Soul Improvisations part 2' seems to be stuck on permanent repeat (don't know how that could have happened) so the others are getting little playing great as they are.

This is the first (and only so far) compilation album by Soul II Soul covering their amazing career from 1989's Club Classics to 1990's A New Decade and 1992's Just Right. It takes off with the smash hit (no introductions needed)"Back To Life" which is still regarded one of the best R&B records ever. The more mellow "Keep On Moving" is next followed by the sophisticated rap of "Get A Life" and the haunting melodies of "A Dream's A Dream".It's pure soul on "Missing You" , "Move Me No Mountain"(the weakest track in the album) and "Just Right" before it gets a bit more clubby with "People".Soul II Soul's first record ever "Fairplay" probably invented mainstream 90's R&B and the only new track on ... If you have the previous boxed edition of this album you have to buy a duplicate copy of the cd just to get hold of the dvd!
I suppose the state of cd sales is such that record companies feel they have to rip off customers to get what they can out of us.
Perhaps Goldfrapp might rethink the way they sell their music to their fans in future?
