............and am purchasing replacement because I couldn't live without it. Play it any time of day. If I play it after bedtime reading to my 6yr old, without a doubt, they'll be asleep before the CD finishes! This album can lift you, relax you, whatever you need, it can do it. Definately in my top 10 and I haven't changed my mind since that first Moon Safari CD purchased many years ago!

Fell in love from the first note. Beth has an amazing voice which really shines out on the track "Coal to Diamonds". Definetly a buy!

This is the best album I've heard in ages! Being a collection spanning Jimy Somemrville's career, it is a real mixture of old favourites and some less well known tracks. To be played loudly at all times and singing along is a must.

On reading the two reviews above I decided it was worth getting this album. What a mistake. If you can get over the incessant and distracting artificial crackle that has been added onto the majority of the tracks you are left with a mish mash of sounds that don't really stick together. The album doesn't really go anywhere - as for the beats, I found they had an annoying 'out of time' feeling. Avoid!

I knew this album would be seriously over-hyped but i bought it anyway on the strength of amazon customer reviews. All i can say is this, thank god i kept my receipt. A dull, lifeless album, where every song sounds like the other. To be fair i was'nt really a fan of Mr Telliers 'Politics' and the main reason for me buying this album was the inclusion of half of daft punks production genious, but even those tracks moved me very little.
This album really is about as self indulgent as you can possibly get. Instead of getting the triumph i was expecting, I was severely let down in terms of maturing as an artist and in terms of album material, this really shows no progression from his debut material.

There's nothing wrong with a rousing volley of anthem fuelled indie/rock dance crossover .For instance I thoroughly enjoyed last years Simian Mobile Disco album and I get the distinct impression from listening to Universe In Reverse that this is the type of thing Infadels are after. A bit of Hard Fi, a smidgeon of Primal Scream , a smattering even of the Kaiser Chiefs or maybe The Zutons ... I would mention Razorlight or The Fratelli,s but that would be insulting.
Universe in Reverse , their sophomore release , certainly has plenty of energy and so it should as it was recorded in a 14 day burst . Infadels are the sort of band I can imagine going do a storm live. They create an impressive racket of flaying guitars, pounding bass and ... Read More:

First off; I can't help but think that "Music Hole" is one of the very worst album titles I've come across. I don't care if there's a concept behind it or anything, it's just horrible. Secondly; whereas Camille's previous album; `Le Fil' was sung 98% of the time in her native French, the vast majority of this album is sung in English. Immediately this trims off a portion of why I at least, enjoyed Le Fil so much. The quiet mystery of not knowing the language in which a song is sung casts the listening experience in a new light. It takes away many conceptions about the artist; like turning a page of text upside down; the meaning suddenly disappears and the pure emotion and shape and construction comes to the fore and becomes infinitely more significant. ... I can't get enough of this fantastic album of uplifting soul/disco/jazz-funk tunes that combine 70's and early 80's influences with a contemporary sound and intelligent lyrics. Vocals are shared between Leroy Burgess, Taka Boom, Pete Simpson, Dianne Charlamaine and Yolanda Wynns. The musicianship is outstanding with the likes to Tony Remy (guitar), Julian Crampton (bass), Michele Chiavarini (keys) and Jim Knight (sax) being given space to do what they do best.
Highlights are the wonderful Ashford & Simpson penned "Rough Times", Philly style, anthemic 'Our Lives Are Shaped', ultra catchy, feel good, Earth Wind and Fire type 'Sitting On Top Of The World', Motown-ish, stomping 'Days Gone By' and the brilliant rousing "We can live forever". 80's ... Fantastic double cd of stripped-down electro and pumped-up electronica.
If you liked Benny Benassi's track 'Satisfaction', Soulwax's Nite Versions, or the track played in the Citroën ad in which the car transforms into a robot and skates on the ice (the Tocadisco remix of 'Walking Away'-CD 1, Track 8), you'll love this cd.
CD 1 is the more 'clubby' set, track after track of pulsing electronic beats, expertly blended into one continuous mix, the highlight being the brilliant Wekan track 'Skid'.
CD 2 has a more 'cinematic' feel to it, like the soundtrack to some techno remake of Blade Runner; highlights include the Tomas Andersson track 'Washing Up' and Vitalic's classic 'La Rock 01'.
Both cds sound fantastic through a good set of headphones. ... Read More:

This is the most thrilling, exciting sound I have heard in ages. What amazing talent and energy! I cannot stop playing it night or day, it is so uplifting.
Even when I am not playing it, the rhythms and melodies keep coming into my head and I find myself nodding, tapping my feet or drumming with my fingers in tempo. The sound quality in general is absolutely superb, however, can anyone explain the small blip of interference between track 2 and 3 ? It only lasts a few seconds but I think this couple deserve perfection in the recording of their performance. I was also a little disappointed in the quality of the DVD production.
In spite of these criticisms I heartily recommend this album and still give it five stars!
