Can't understand all the negative comments here - I think this is probably the most consistent of the HK mix albums. World Series 1 was close but let down by the Twisted Disco set. Here, however, even that one touches the spot.

It seems that commerciality put a lot of people off and they shy away from anything which has the whiff of the charts about it - I was the same when I was a teenager! But if it's good, it's good and all three cds here are superb. The choice of tunes is spot on and the mixing second to none. The runthrough going from "Dusk Till Dawn" / "We Are Family" / "Boogie"/ "Fade" on CD1 is vintage Hed Kandi and its beyond me how anyone can disagree.

Stereo Sushi Version 12

I agree with A Owens below. This is a really weak entry in the stereo suhi series. The sushi releases have beena bit hit n miss since mark dyle left hed kandi..some are good but this ranks very badly..couldnt believe the poor quality control on this one.

There are 2or 3 good tracks...namely Joey negros sunburst band and the maxine hardcastle track and maybe 1 other but thats it really. Check out fierce disco which mark doyle complied but this is poor indeed. I really hope hed kand i get there act together again

Ministry of Sound: The Annual Vol.4

This Annual really stands out from the others in my view. It not only characterized the wicked summer '98, but really had such a large variety of songs - from the incredibly uplifting and classic sounding 'Brimful of Asha' that brings back memories of school days, but classic trance songs like Chicane's incredible 'Strong In Love', and the fun 'Gangster Trippin' by good ol' Fatboy Slim - a time when yes, this genre of music was included in Annuals, unlike today where its all just kiddy house music and just absolutley no variety. I guess MoS have forgotten that The 'Annual' does actually mean something in music terms..

An absolutely cracking album containing slick mixing and some banging tunes. If you are looking for an album to listen to before going out or having a house party then this is the one for you. Forget your Cream and MOS annual mixes they simply dont compare to this.

This album is ok, and the Leftfield track at the start is one of their best efforts but for a real quality trance album you need to be looking at I'm the Supervisor by Infected Mushroom, Twisted by Hallucinogen or maybe Astral Projection In the Mix. Really, this commercial superclub rubbish doesnt even come close. Im doing you a favour here!

The Chillout Session

A nice album overall, though nothing 'amazing' really. Cd1 has a particularly mixed theme, with soothing songs such as Les Nuits, or the lovely No Ordinary Morning (wow). Cd2 has more of a beat, but the rhythms are still quite bliss.
Good album, though for me, the best chill out album money can buy is Chilled Euphoria...

I have'nt bought this yet as I have only just found it and am waiting(oh...god...the waiting) till pay-day to buy it. This is one of those albums that has every song on it for the trance generation (the original trance generation, not all the bull that was a spin-off from it). The number of times I have listened to this albums is a bit scary, especially considering every time I hear one of the tunes on it on the radio I expect a beautiful transition into the next song on the track listing, BUT IT NEVER HAPPENS :(

If you say you love trance and dont have this album, your just kidding yourself.

Renaissance Anthems

All credit to all concerned (particularly Alan Bremner who Mixed and Engineered the thing), this is an enjoyable mix of old house classics, many of which if you'll probably have on vinyl or whatever (if you're old and ugly enough!). Alan's Leftfield and Young MC mash up on CD1 is definitely a highlight for me.
