This compilation features some of the great dance tunes from 2001 - who could forget Kylie's catchy number one, or 'Flawless', the superb hit which keeps us dancing all night! This album is a great keepsake of a year of progressive dance music and would be a great gift for a younger listener, a party addict or to keep in the car. Hardened dance-lovers wouldn't go there, unfortunately, as the love of tacky but fun music goes out the window with the more serious connoisseur. If only you knew what you are missing! There are an equal number of serious, hard hitting club tunes on this album to charty house hits. A must for everyone who likes to have fun!

I have a LARGE collection of chillout (Cafe Del Mar, ETC)/ ambient music etc and this is one of THE best albums I have.

This album has a number of special tracks, that really hit you and stand out ! This CD has a varied chillout feel, from slow vocal tracks to chill house & drum and bass. A brilliant variety of tracks within the same vibe.

Hope they make another one like this soon ...

This is a good electro house album, however, Mark Doyle (the former HEDKANDI genius)influence is clearly missed!. This is still one of my favourites from the HED Kandi selection; funky and uplifting, although it lacks originality and depth compared to the Mark Doyle days! Feirce Angel here I come (the new Mark Doyle (genius) label).

The Ibiza Annual - Summer 2001

After such an amazing Ibiza Annual in 2000, I was looking forward to this one. I think it has its up and dwons though - mostly track selection.
This was of course, the end of Judge Jules, Tall Paul, and all the other legends who mixed annuals to this date. Instead, computer mixing took over, and the albums just lost their charcater and style. Luckily, this annual doesnt suffer tooo badly.. but its not amazing either
Cd1 takes the house approach - of course, a new angle to the annuals from now on, as a computer cannot mix house and trance songs together - the songs just wouldnt match correctly according to it. So a house theme is for disc 1, and possibly a little dissapointing. Unlike previous annuals, it doesnt have the ibiza feel to it. ... Read More:

1997? Could be 2001! Its only Ultra Nate's "Free" which shows the age of this mix, which is no great shame as it is still a great tune anyway. All the better for not hearing it for so long. Its no surprise that Todd Terry is known as "Todd the God", his mix is faultless, but lets get away from the nerdy technical side. Its the music that makes the DJ, not ability. And this collection is excellent. This stands out because it hasn't dated or aged. It could be a new collection out this week. This is a great CD which lends itself to listening to again and again. Yet equally at home turned up loud, while getting ready for the weekend. This is smooth, US house. Wicked vocals, funky dubs and bouncy beats. Buy it. Highly recommended.

The New Classic Chillout Album - From Dusk Till Dawn

Listening to CDs 1 and 2 of this compilation is like listening to two entirely different albums. Whilst CD 2 "Dawn" is as delightful as you'd expect from the excellent "Classic Chillout" series, with its soaring strings and choral harmonies to send shivers down the spine, they have decided to fill CD1 "Dusk" will dull, minimalistic thudding trance tunes. There is the odd commercial track from the likes of Moby and Leftfield, but let's face it, what self respecting chillout fan doesn't own these tracks already? On the other hand, CD2 introduces the listener to an array of beautiful haunting melodies.
