I alreay had a couple of CDMs and liked them, but when I heard this one I was hooked from the first bars of Jo Manji's opener. What a song, what an album! Ive now got almost all of the collections but this still shines above the rest. I think its the variety and musicianship which makes it such a tranfixing pleasure to listen to. Try it loud and on your best HiFi for maximum chill factor. I'll refund your money myself if you dont like it!

I agree that the mixing is pretty seamless, as it should be if it's done in a studio. I can't help feeling that this is cheating really: there's a world of difference between mixing live (not necessarily in a club)and creating something in a studio on a computer, i.e. spontenaety.
Along with all the other Global Underground series, this left me totally unmoved. I really don't get it: the whole series just seems to be a triumph of style over substance. Go for some of the Journeys by DJ stuff instead.

The tracklisting looks great, but its really not that amazing to listen to. Fair enough, I am biased (as any trance-addict would be!) but I still appreciate good house - but this wasnt all that exciting at all. Lots of old classics of course, but maybe some were a bit TOO old (?) and not so well-known... and not so good either!??
This album is difficult to get into, on the whole a bit too slow, and the mixing is quite dull as well. Overall, not very stimulating, and you'll soon be turning it off in favour of something like a Hed Kandi CD. Hope the follow-up is better!
Release Date June 18, 2001
A great album to sip sangria to. Not a 'jazzy' as the latest Vol.9 but offers a warm blend of subtle head-calmindg tunes and 'beaty' vibes. Recommended for the rainy nights in and sunny beach-days out.

I hate it when people write reveiws claiming its nothing new its boring etc because when you buy a classic album thats what you are gonna get classic old tuuuunes, so why buy if all ya gonna do is slag it off for being full of the same old repetative tunes "ITS IN THE TITLE!"... Anyway thats my rant over lets get down to the album. The only thing that lets this album down is its called classic yet the most classic euphoruc tune of this era is not included (cafe del mar energy 52), thats my only gripe!... The album itself is just packed with the tunes of a musical genre that meant so much to so many people. Around the millenium euphoric trance was at a standard that will never be repeated again as it was blissfully full of quality and meaning, before various ... Read More:

This Cd is well worth buying. Firstly it is excellent value for a double disc with over 2 and a half hours of music. The sound is superb and the varition is well mixed and suited. Highlight of this album for me are the haunting and divine Due Tramonti by Ludovico Einaudi (a genius!), a new choir arrangement of Barber's masterpiece Adagio for strings, Chopin's Nocturn Op.72/1 (as featured in 1 of last years best films "The Pianist"). Other highlights come from Arvo Part, Mascagni and Satie. Featured performers include Lesley Garrett, the Philharmonica Orchestra, Trinity College Choir. A fantastic album at a fantastic price, well worth getting, putting your feet up and relaxing and enjoying the beautiful music.
Release Date April 24, 2006
There are few tracks on this album which really capture your Kandimagination. Namely Gav McCalls tune is a beauty, as is the Hot 22 material. Other than that, a fringe effort to what used to be a colossal label.
Ministry Of Sound has caused a thick layer of dust to form on those glittery balls we all used to love.
Release Date February 24, 2003
This album could have been excellent. It is let down mainly by the fact that it is propped up with big tunes from last year and fails to showcase any significant new work. The effort from the winners of German popstars is simply eurotrash and not really worth mentioning apart from that. By this if you dont already own "Shiny Disco Balls" "77 Strings" or nby some freak of nature you havent yet got "Days Go Bye" by the sublime Dirty Vegas. If you do perhaps it would be best to wait for he next Hed Kandi release "Disco Heaven 2"...
Release Date October 02, 2000
If you are looking for another smokers delight, then you will be rather unhappy with this cd - it IS mostly trip hop, there are some good tracks on this disk but it is not nearly as mello as previous titles like car boot soul etc. You are better off getting stoned and listening to white noise.
Release Date June 11, 2007
An absolutely cracking album containing slick mixing and some banging tunes. If you are looking for an album to listen to before going out or having a house party then this is the one for you. Forget your Cream and MOS annual mixes they simply dont compare to this.
