wow, what an album! not only is it laid back and smooth, it also has stomping tunes that will put anyone in the world in the mood for dancing! wayne has the smoothest voice and it compliments all of the wide range of songs. you could stick this album on anytime and it would pep you up or just for easy listening. it sets the scene of jamaica perfectly... whisk me away to my carribean island!!.........

Not much to be said about this album other than WICKED! Every track makes you break out in dance and smile. I like Moses' quirky writing skill and funny tendancies in his songs. It's not hard to know what he is saying in most of his songs when you listen carefully and they are catchy lyrics too.

Although many criticise songs with some swear words and other things, i will always like Beenie for the way in which he pens his songs. He was my first liking into ragga music and he always gets a 10/10 from me.

I waited ages to get this c.d.--- and the track i really wanted isn't on it -- ( Rise above it) it's on other similarly packaged versions but not on mine ... there are also tracks on it that i don't even remember from the film and i've seent that film dozens of times .. and sorry Worl-a-Girl -- the actors version of The Jamaican Bobsled chant is much better than yours ...the instrumentals are good though but all in all - i found it disappointing and wished i'd got the 12 track version of this cd ....

Drum Sound: More Gems from the Channel One Dub Room 1974-1980

This is a nice, rounded selection of b-side dubs from the Channel One stable; a typically fine piece of archiving from Pressure Sounds. The cd is largely a showcase for Sly Dunbar's 'double-drum' sound, but most will probably buy it due to the presence of one track only, the extremely rare 'Kunte Kinte Version'(even if it is now available as a 7"). It's hard to imagine a better 4 minutes of dub, a Pabloish, "eastern sound" synthesised flute calling ominously out over a militant rockers riddim. It's rare for Dub to meet the dynamics of a perfect pop record so neatly.

It's inevitable that the rest of the cd pales a little by comparison, though there's lots to enjoy (my picks are 'war version' and 'girl a love you version' - a clattering ... Read More:
