This is a selection of early Morbid Angel recordings. Some of the tracks appear on Alters of Madness under different names or with different lyrics. There may even be an early version of something off Blessed are the sick (can't remember without listening to it due to the name change!). As you'd expect for a bunch of tracks unearthed from demo tapes and the like, the sound quality isn't exactly top notch. Over all it's worth a listen and worth buying if you're a big Morbid Angel fan, but newcomers might prefer to try Alters or Blessed.

I want to get something clear here, The detractors argue that this is Slayers "slow" album, have they not heard Seasons in the Abyss? This album is not as slow as people make it out to be.

My fave Slayer album, yes, not every song burns at 1000rpm like RiB but it shows that Slayer were prepared to branch out and I'm so glad they did, this album is an absolute classic! South of Heaven the song is one of the greatest openers to any album in any genre, I love how it fades into Silent Scream which is probibly the only weak track on the cd.

Everything else is pure gold, Everything from Behind... to Spill the blood is perfect, Slayer crafted a brutal thrash album thats also hints very very slightly at melody, which is no ... Read More:

Wildhoney/Gaia

Very Pink Flyodish, surreal metal. Wide musical spectre ranging from pretty heavy, to instrumental soft, like the masterpiece Planets, a very spiritual song.
This album is an ode to nature, as the title suggests ( just separate the two words in wildhoney & think about it).
Majestic, sometimes hard & energizing, sometimes mellow & soothing, Wildhoney is an overall spiritually gratifying experience

Soft spot for this compilation, it being my first ever thrash album (back in 86, I bought it on cassette - can still see the cover with Cronos!)
It's pretty crude by todays standards - little in common with the Black Metal acts that followed; no keyboards, the satanic lyrics are often slightly tongue in cheek, and there isn't the icy cold feeling of the likes of Emperor or Dimmu Borgir! Not to mention technical ability!
What you do have is a set of songs that are catchy with conventional structures that are more Punk Metal than anything else. The youth of today, raised on Satyricon & Immortal will find this fairly tame & a little shoddy, but back in it's day, it was fast & nasty! And it persuaded me to buy Master Of Puppets.... ... Great CD despite the relativeley short running time!
I know this comes under the Death Metal banner here but there's a groove to this that recalls the biker rock of Circus Of Power & Guns N Roses.
Also a VERY strong Motorhead influence here.
Also the vocals and rhythms recall Biohazard at their heaviest!
If you like Hardcore/Crossover, then you are gonna like this!
Raw guitar tones, in your face bass and not a single duff track!
The Hellraiser interpretation is interesting, with the gothic feel and heavy use of samples from the 1987 classic.
A strong Death Metal release, with a hardcore edge!
I'd recommend Biohazard's Kill Or Be Killed if this is your bag......

Vempire is an album to die for!! It is the best album they have made so far. Totally weird and scary, but that's the way I like it!! Totally great stuff from those guys. I like to congratulate Cradle of Filth of making an album like this. I loved it all the way through. I am a big fan of black metal music now - I cannot live without these guys!! Queen of Winter, Throned is a totally cool track - the best track anyone has ever made. Keep up the good work lads.
