This CD is a perfect accompaniment to the film, Hitch. Listening to the tracks brings to mind the scenes from the film they relate to and each one makes me smile as I remember the film. The songs are a great mix of old soul classics and some more modern tunes. The reworking of "Now That We Found Love" is the highlight for me. It's a great take on an old song. Even if you haven't seen the film, this is a great CD to buy, simply because the songs are so good. Classic performances by great artists.

Barry White’s brand of sensual orchestral seventies soul is sorely missed. We can do with a bit of old-fashioned sensuality on radio these days. This love song collection includes all his work (Did he do anything but love songs?) His greatest hits from that melody-friendly decade are all here: Can’t Get Enough Of Your Love, I’m Gonna Love You Just A Little Bit More and the sublime You’re The First, The Last, My Everything. I always liked his understated version of Just The Way You Are much more than Billy Joel’s overwrought emoting on the original, and Never Never Gonna Give You Up is still as delicious now as it was back then. There’s not a bad track on Love Songs and many classics, like It May Be Winter ... Read More:

I have been a lover of funk jazz for a while now and this cd reminds me why I like it so much. This is an ideal CD to sit back and chill out to, although some of the tracks deserve dedicated listening. The above reviews mention tracks by Grant Green which are excellent, fot me though the track "KUDU" hits the spot. The slow intoduction leads inot a nice lively and heavy bass line very nice indeed.

With UK top ten hits by Diana Ross (Upside down, My old piano), Teena Marie (Behind the groove), Billy Preston and Syreeta (With you I'm born again), the Commodores (Still) and Jermaine Jackson (Let's get serious), this compilation shows that Motown were still a force to be reckoned with as the seventies ended and the eighties began.
Several of the tracks here missed the UK charts but are still worth hearing. Cruising (Smokey Robinson) was an American top five hit although it missed the British charts. I don't know if it was released as a UK single, but it's a great song anyway.
This is a great compilation highlighting the music coming out of Motown as the seventies gave way to the eighties.

The best part of this collection is the rare, previously unavailable tracks. Never mind that buying this item means acquiring songs one already has; it is the the above mentioned rare stuff that is worth the price of admission. Disc 4, Track 8, Medley, Pick a Bale of Cotton, On Top of Old Smokey, and Midnight Special are interesting. Whoever heard of ABBA singing a CCR song? And Track 11 on the same disc, ABBA Undeleted, in which they're "jamming" is a lot of fun, because it is so informal and spontaneous.
Now, if only Agnetha Faltskog's early career German language recordings would once again be available...

Whilst I myself am not an Abba fan, I bought this CD as a gift for a friend who is an Abba fan. When I listened to 'snatches' from some of the tracks, I thought the CD was a copy of Abba's music and that I must have ordered the wrong item! Then I re-read the details on the Amazon site and some of the reviews and reckoned I must be wrong! I guess the fact that the two "B"s in the middle of the Abba name on the front of the CD were also 'back to front' made me wonder if this CD was a copy of their hits? Can someone please confirm? Many thanks.
