With UK top ten hits by Diana Ross (Upside down, My old piano), Teena Marie (Behind the groove), Billy Preston and Syreeta (With you I'm born again), the Commodores (Still) and Jermaine Jackson (Let's get serious), this compilation shows that Motown were still a force to be reckoned with as the seventies ended and the eighties began.

Several of the tracks here missed the UK charts but are still worth hearing. Cruising (Smokey Robinson) was an American top five hit although it missed the British charts. I don't know if it was released as a UK single, but it's a great song anyway.

This is a great compilation highlighting the music coming out of Motown as the seventies gave way to the eighties.

Ok people i have to say that this is the best party CD ever made and i would know! This pure cheese cd gets better and better by each track. it's like no other party cd i know off. But the crazy thing is people they discontinued it.

So i'm after a copy if you find one, tell me. The copy i had was not mine im sorry to say. But hay theirs gotta be a copy out there some where.

BUT Remember this is by far the best party . No Joke.

It's New York City, 1979 - the height of the disco boom and somewhere around the closing chapters of the Philly/Salsoul orchestral soul era. Imagine that somehow, someone had taken a giant leap from the contemporary dance music of the time towards electronic House music in a single step - leaving everybody else most of the next decade to catch up! "24 - 24 Music" by Dinosaur L is that giant step !

This is one of those records that I have briefly heard snatches of in the past but never been able to get my hands on. The LP was recorded in NYC in 1979 (although not released until 1982) by a handful of session musicians, led by cellist, visionary composer, underground disco artist and all round musical legend Arthur Russell.

I love the songs of Gloria Gaynor, but i regret because much to my regret, not exist CD from the LP "GLORIOUS" 1977, with the following songs : "Why Should I Pay, As Time Goes By, Hands of Time, Most of All, We Can Start All over Again, Sweet Sweet Melody, Life Ain't Worth Living, This Side of the Pain, So Much Love". WHY???
