I bought this at the same time as Earth, WInd & Fire's Greatest Hits. EWF's is good, but nowhere need as good as this.

I'm not really into this kind of music, but I have always liked K&tG and this is just a fun-packed 69 minutes of good time music. Virtually all of these tracks move at a fair lick and, although the lyrics are not earth-shattering deep and meaningful, who cares when the music is so good.

The singing is great, but the musicianship is simply outstanding, and great for a bop at party time.

Favourite track? Probably 'Cherish', but 'Fresh' is exactly that, 'Victory' is fabulous with it beat and 'Joanna' has always been a favourite of mine.

OK, I'm a bit carried away with my enthusiasm, but this album is jam-packed with a great deal of her earlier work!

I'm listening to it now, it just arrived.... I particularily like Ring of fire, All on a summer's night and She's lost control (this one has fab sound effects - beware of the car accident, especially!) - these 3 tracks are quite rare.

It's well-recorded and the order of the tracks is good. All her famous tracks are here - this CD won't disappoint.

So now I'm thinking: Will Miss Jones Grace us with another "Collection" of her later works, mid '80's to the present? Who knows... after all, this is the game that she perennially plays with us fans!

In the late 70's and early 80's Atlantic Starr released some of the classiest soul of the era. Songs like 'When Love Calls', 'Circles', 'Silver Shadow', 'Love Me Down' and 'Secret Lovers' remain to this day classics of the genre. This compilation, I'm glad to say, has been very intelligently compiled and genuinely includes some of the groups very best tracks. Apart from the aforementioned classics this CD includes two of the groups killer Sam Dees penned ballads in 'Send For Me' and 'Am I Dreaming' which are both dead slow southern soul at it's best (as anyone who's ever heard of Dees will know!) In the series,partly because the the other 2 with the earlyest in the trilogy being the best IMO.
Really like both C.D's and am especially liking the "sexy time" disc whereas I usually favor the more discofied stuff.
Only track I have a problem with which is "cosmic girl" jamiroqui whih is the opener on the Disco disc,It did put me off from instantly buying when it was 1st released,but its a better mix and fits in ok.A slower less solid start would of been better IMO.
Done really do reviews but I feel so strongly about Dimitri and his stuff.
Get it you'll love it.

There are lots of compilations but this is not the artists fault. There is a huge difference between this and all the others. This is album is unique and like no other greatist hits album. This album contains on record and transfered 3 sides of non stop music and one side of extended remixes of One the radio and No more tears of over 11 minutes with Barbra streisand - one of the best diva duets ever and beats all the remakes. This is also written by the guy who gave babs "the main event" and "last dance".
all her hits are cleverly mixed into each other with percussion and music overdubs and even changing of pace. it would be great to see all her 12 versions mixed in like this.

I love this album sooo much!!!I am a huge, huge fan and I brought this album after watching the Marvin Gaye DVD, 'Live in Amsterdam: 1976' a few years ago. He gave a live performance of 'All the Way 'Round' and I just fell in love with the song so I decided to buy the whole album and I was not dissapointed. The album has been put onto my ipod and has been played constantly!!Marvin is at his sensual best and its just a very smooth and chilled album. I know its classed as a lovers album but I just enjoy playing it when I want to relax as the songs are very mellow.I love 'All the Way Round', 'Since I had You' and 'I Want You' the most but all the songs have their charm. Make no mistake - Bucks Fizz made some of the best pop music of the Eighties. So why only the three stars?

Well...one star is docked because of the slightly odd running order (compilation CD should always sequence tracks chronologically - end of), and because the powers that be have seen fit to leave two chart singles off the compilation completely (admittedly the two lowest charting, but it seems churlish considering there is space on the disc).

The second star is docked becasue of the frankly ropey booklet and presentation. Okay, so Bucks Fizz were a bit cheesy in their initial incarnation, but did the packaging really have to be so...naff? No photos, no essay, not even any lyrics...just the odd comment on (selected) tracks from Cheryl Baker.

If you have seen the stage show of 'The Full Monty', you'll know it's exciting, lively, funny and touching. For those who have only seen the film, this CD may be quite different to your expectations. The stage show is an American version of the film, so if you're expecting Sheffield accents, you may be surprised! The names of the characters are also different to the original ones.

That said, the songs are entertaining, lively and amusing (take 'Big-Ass Rock' for example, when the guys try to deter their new friend from committing suicide). I too first saw Kokomo on the Naughty Rhythm Tour, at Manchester Free Trade Hall. Loved the Feelgoods but Kokomo were head and shoulders above the others. Went out and bought Kokomo straight away - a stunning album - one that I "lost" many years later and had given up hope. I have just sat down been elated, rejuvenated and then burst into tears as Angel told me to "keep searching".......I was a college d.j and this was my "signature" smooch track for the end of the night. This is the tightest, best album by some of the most talented, but unheralded, musicians we've ever had. Buy this album now...your life will be changed.
