This arrived yesterday and I'd played it through five times by the end of the day, the last time at three in the morning, where I just dozed and allowed myself total immersion. I buy a lot of music so it's relatively rare these days that an album hits me between the eyes and lights me up on first hearing, but this one did.
I can only presume the negative reviews are from folks who were expecting a particular type of music rather than a syncretic work of huge scope and originality.
I've owned Talvin's Ha for several years and which I've liked and thought was 'OK'. Having got it down and given it some further listening recently I found that this time it was actually getting under my skin, so I ordered this. This has ... Read More:

Brazilian wonderkids DJ Marky & XRS present their debut album; from chart hits, dance-floor smashers, to lounge gems - it's all Brazilian!
DJ Marky and XRS are without doubt two of South America's most high-profile dance music artists. From Sao Paulo, DJ Marky is the deck-master that took the world by storm re-energizing drum'n'bass audiences universally. XRS is the Brazilian studio wizard.

This is definitely an album that improves each time you listen to it. My first experience of ATR came via Alec Empire's solo album 'Intelligence and Sacrifice' and after the comparatively accessible tracks on that record, I found 'Delete Yourself' much harder to get into. However, the anger and the mayhem that comes through convinced me to listen to it over and over, and its now a favourite album of mine.
The tracks often seem a bit thrown-together, but the overall effect incredibly intense, focussing on anti-popular culture, anti-stupidity lyrics yelled over samples and (very) loud industrial beats.
A good place to start for anyone looking to get into industrial music, and a real eye-opener to the genre.

An excellent album, not what I expected tho. I thought this album was going to be more like Jungle/Drum & Bass (bit like The Essence)I was wrong its a big improvement to his previous release, and the music is more experimental going from acid house to techno and some tunes has elements of jungle in as well.
If you want several different styles of dance music combined together and feel like listening to a moody spaced out sound. Buy this, you'll enjoy it!!!

This episode of Drum and Bass Arena Presents DJ Zinc takes a snapshot of DnB at the end of 2005.
The mix starts off with upbeat and feel-good tunes, the first two tracks are very good quality and lead nicely into the first peak in the mix in the shape of tracks 3,4 & 5. The tracks are not stone wall classics but are good examples of Drum & Bass development up until now. Just when it sounds like its getting hard & heavy in track 4, in comes Jenna G's soulful "Rising" which sends the mix downtempo slightly. The mix stays with the soulful/chilled vibe for the next few tracks and while it is enjoyable threatens to get boring. Thankfully this is quickly rectified and track 9 wakes you up with a Renegade Hardware style kick in the ... Read More:
