The standard of the another late night / late night tales series has been very high, and i expected a lot from this installment.
However, I must say that after about 10 listens i feel quite cheated. The thing is that there are a lot of "ubiquitous" tracks here. For example, "Tracks of my tears", "Superfly" and "Lets stay together", while being good solid tunes, are so well known that they would probably be on "The best soul album in the world, Ever!". I want to hear stuff i haven't heard before, or i feel a bit disappointed.
On the plus side, there's some nice laid back stuff here. "I just wanna celebrate" has a v. catchy funky beat and some great vocals. and "Manila" is totally cool. I like "Nights over egypt" too, ... Read More:

I grew up listening to traditional dub reggae, and was therefore interested to find out how dubstep had updated this style of music. I'm pleased to say that I was not disappointed with this compilation of current dubstep artists (none of whom I was previously familiar with), and can thoroughly recommend this as an excellent introduction.
All of the characteristics of traditional dub, such as the use of echo and other studio effects and stripping the vocals right down to the bare bones, are still there, but dubstep has really catapulted dub into the 21st century. The tracks provide a grim reminder of the alienation and fear lurking at the heart of modern urban Britain, but the music is far from being negative. As you would expect, the bass ... Read More:

I own four other Cafe Del Mar CD's, and this one, by far, stands out the most and has the best sound. It is a little more trancy than the others, offering a more rythmic hypnotic beat. Simply amazing! A must buy if you like the CDM series!
Release Date August 27, 2001
I think most people in the UK have heard of these guys either from bieng into the genre but I and like most people I know were lucky enough to travel and socialise with the sourthern hemisphere gang and be inducted that way. The first track I heard was "Love your ways" and it stopped me in my tracks, dead.
The album is well put together and if funk is your thang then it's a must. Twists and turns with samples, awesome guitar riffs and electronic undertones to create a truly remarkable piece of work. Dirty Vegas meets Massiva attack meets Ska. Well worth checking out.
