This guy is getting props from lots of pseudo-underground hip-hop fans who admire IT's vehement political stance and 'skeletal' production style. Take a step back, though. For someone whose pseudonym apparently boasts of his lyrical prowess, IT's flow is pathetic, and his rhymes sound like bad sixth form poetry. The production is certainly skeletal, but also sounds like it was made on fruity loops in about five minutes. Any idea of subtlety, nuance, or hey, musicality goes out the window to make way for IT's cheap imitation of Chuck D. When there's political hip-hop as tight as the likes of Nephlim Modulation Systems, Black Radical Mk II and Orko the Sycotik Alien, Immortal Technique is the last place you would need to look.

This is a gangsta rap album from start to finish. Listen to any of the tracks(excluding 'wanna get to know you') and youll get the picture. Personally I like Gangsta rap but i don't like this album. it appealed to me when i was about 12 years old(I'm now 15) but after listening to a range of different styles of hip hop from different eras it occured to me that this album carries absolutely no message. Its all jewelery, cars and guns, the life of what many people would call a 'gangsta' but it avoids more mature and realistic areas like the struggle to escape a life of crime, in fact g unit make it sound like robberies and drug dealing lead to success. I am heavily into rap and i have many of the classic artist albums such as dr dre, noop dogg, nwa, eazy e, tupac and the rest, im mainly into mainstream but ive gone down to the outside now. This album is absoutely stunning, there are around 10 tracks i could listen to over and over again. Forget 50 cent, forget even eminem! This is the real stuff and possibly one of the best albums ever made in any music genre.

This album is Amazing!!If you have his first 2 albums,then you just have to buy this one!Stand out tracks for me are the classic Club hit "still not a Player","Dream shaterer" the original version is better than the the remix on the Capital punishment album,his flow is just amazing on this song and he just doesnt stop for breath!"how we roll 98" is another classic with his children singing in the chorus over a Janet jackson sample.The main reason these songs were not released before are because there are alot of samples in the songs which they did not get clearance for until after Pun died..Buy This! ~Rest in Peace~big punisher

Im predominantly a Metal fan but as that includes the likes of Biohazard and Suicidal Tendencies i am open to Rap if its of a rougher nature ie Fort Minor, Silver Bullet, Public Enemy, NWA etc.
This is definiteley a release with that crossover appeal with its hard assed lyrics dealing with the darker side of street life and DMX's razor blade vocals. This guy is to Rap what AC/DC's Brian Johnson is to Rock!
Low, gravelly and will strip your wallpaper. The production is state of the art with effective instrumentation, clever samples and snippets of 70' soul classics in between tracks. I got this album along with the dangerdoom album. I listened to this one second, and I was amazed at the scope of MF Dooms performance and creativity. This album has a much darker production, and the character Doom has created is very effective in challenging the gangsta rap scene. The rhymes are what is best about this album, with surprising references to sci-fi, comics and cartoons. The skits on the album are not as common as they are on the dangerdoom album, and are of a very different nature, the whole album is of a very different nature. This and dangerdoom are great introductions to MF Doom and have left me wanting more. MM..Food is on its way from amazon as I write.
