This album is all round OK. Some tracks are dope, like really dope. But the rest of the album is made up of the usual Ja Rule album filler songs. The lead single 'Holla Holla' is garbage. If your an actual fan of hip hop, you would know it is not worthy of more than 3 stars at all.

But i give Ja props, its more hardcore than his other stuff and his rhymes are deep. His flow is tight too.

Although, each member is lethal in their own solo work/collabarations, surely most would agree that when they come together, the sparks really fly.

Most of the famous tracks are on hear to keep the fans (myself included) happy. Jungle/ Drum & Bass listeners will also recognise many of the old skool samples.

You need this in your collection.

I had been a fan of X for some time, and this album shows him at his best-very gangsta flow and i like the beats.
His unique voice, which has recently been copied by Ja Rule, really suits this album and like any other X album it is quite dark.

I have 5 of these sessions discs and this is the best by far. Track selection is good and for me CD1 is one of the best openers on a mix CD that I own offering both stress release and subliminal cool. Modern and representative of our age this mix takes you from pounding the pavement to pounding on the dancefloor to Mr Fedde le G! but don't 'think about it' just buy it! You can thank me in your subsequent glowing review!!

Every true head knows that Pete Rock & CL have unquestionable seats in the hip hop hall of fame. Their debut EP (All Souled Out) and subsequent debut LP (Mecca & The Soul Brother)guaranteed this accolade. As a consequence, The Main Ingredient, their second full-length album, is unduly overlooked to this day.

I don't need to harp on about why it's so great. If you're reading this, you have a fair idea. I simply want to state what most people consider unthinkable; the Main Ingredient is the best thing PR & CL did together.

It's not as well know as their others and it lacks the standout track that both other releases had ('TROY' from the latter being their best known) but the whole LP is nigh on flawless. There are ... Read More:

New Whirl Odor [CD + DVD]

Considering that Public Enemy should have theoretically outlived their relevence by now, they're still releasing great music, and this is no exception. Bring That Beat Back is the outstanding track for me, easily one of their best songs. Bonus DVD is good. Worth a buy, and they're pretty much giving it away these days.
