The Wu-Tang Clan's long-awaited second album, Wu-Tang Forever, arrived to great anticipation, and the double-disc set does not disappoint. Where contemporaries like 2Pac and the Notorious B.I.G. issued double-discs cluttered with filler, Wu-Tang Forever is purposeful and surprisingly lean, illustrating the immense depth of producer RZA and the entire nine-piece crew. Each rapper has a different lyrical style, from Ol' Dirty Bastard's bizarre rants to Raekwon's story sketches, and RZA subtly shifts his trademark style for each song, creating an album of cinematic proportions. There are no great musical innovations on the album, since the Wu-Tang's signature blend of skeletal beats, scratchy samples, eerie pianos, and spectral strings remains ... Read More:

I got this album after my friend recommended it to me. I put it in my car sound system and was won over immediately. The intro to smash sumthin is way over the top but this is its appeal - very dramatic orchestral music. smash sumthin itself is one of the best tracks i have ever heard. The storyline of the album is comically terminatorish - but again just adds to the confident vibe of the album. What makes this album so different to many others (eg: Redman Malpractice) is the consistency. It doesn't wane and you won't find yourself continually skipping tracks. In fact Last Dayz (the last song) is probably one of the best - certainly lyrically speaking. I hope we will see a sequel - I will grab it as soon as it's released. Last time I saw Adam ... Original Juice Crew producer & MC from the 80's make CD that kills the competition in 2008!? Unbelievable...Makes this nearly 40yr old hip hop nerd all warm inside. Essential.
Release Date December 09, 2002
This album was released in two versions - The blue cover, as here, is a collection of RZA produced offcuts from various minor Wu-Tang cronies, apparently 'inspired' by the movie. A version with an otherwise identical white cover is the actual S/T of the movie: This was only released in Japan and occasionally pops up in the racks for about 25 quid. But it is the one you'll be wanting and rates 5 stars - possibly the best thing he's ever done.

I first heard Fat Joe on Ja rule's "New York" on which he spat an amazing verse. When I saw this album on offer for a fiver I thought why not, and bought it. I'm glad I did as this is a quality Album from the Latino rapper. He really try's on it and it shows.
It starts of with Intro which is a song but is easily skipped. The beat and Joe's style of rapping don't really go together. The album really picks up with the next track "Does anybody Know" which has a great beat and sample. Fat Joe really shines lyrically on this track. "Safe to say" I a solid track but after this is "so much more" which is probably the best track on the album. I'm surprised that it didn't do better in the charts. The beat is by Cool n Dre and is outstanding. Next ... Read More:

Dinco, Milo & Charlie Brown are all great rappers, but you know that you were waiting for the next Busta verse to show up when you put on a Leaders of the New School record. He was just too crazy; slickly demolishing the beats with near O.D.B.-level hip hop heroics. But schooltime is over & L.O.N.S. now only exist in lyrical references and in filler track at the end of this album. So, how does The Coming compare?
Well, it's easy to sit behind a computer & label people as "sell-outs", so that's exactly what I'm going to do.
There's just no way in hell that the Busta Rhymes of 1993 would tolerate the wackness of the hook on 'It's a Party', or the completely generic production that appears on all but a few of the tracks. There's ... Read More:

Producer and rapper RZA told a Danish interviewer that the album he's the most proud of is this one, "Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)", and it is hard to disagree with him.
What is there to say about such an essential hip hop album that hasn't been said? One classic track leads to another on this 1993 release, and today, in the year of 2008, the price is so low there are no excuses on not owning it. Even if you hate hip hop, this record may be the one to start out with, combining primarily simple and catchy beats with the funny, yet hardcore, lyrical masterpieces each member presents us with in each track.
I can try to point of my favorite tracks, but it is kinda hard. "Bring da ruckus", "Shame on a nigga", "Da mystery of chessboxin'", "C.R.E.A.M.", "Protect ... Read More:

That Kurtis Blow was one of the very first rappers to popularise the genre is not in dispute. Essentially at this time the majority of rap music was first and foremost a fun and party friendly kind of music totally different to the styles and lyrics of today's stars like Eminem. This was Kurtis's first album and features the two tracks that he's still best known for in 'Rappin Blow (Part 2) (AKA 'Christmas Rappin' in it's entire version) and biggest hit 'The Breaks'. These two tracks, though a bit dated, still sound good even today and evoke memories of some seriously good times with me! Sadly, even at the time, the rest of this record was/ is pretty poor. 'Way Out West' is a daft 'wild west' rap song and along with third single 'Throughout Your Years' musically sounds not ... Read More:
