after jay z had dropped reasonable doubt, a classic in every sense, and in my lifetime, a very underrated good album,it seemed he had fallen off, he dropped hard knock life vol, 2, which lost major points for having a guest appearance on every song, and the terrible(and i hate to say it) vol.3, jay z obviously took a long look at his mistakes, and made 1 hell of an album, this is album is a(as is the title) a blueprint for modern rap, jay z hired some brilliant producers for this, such as just blaze, the then unknown kanye west(this album made him the most wanted producer aside dr dre) and timbaland, and is lyrically excellent on it too, this album is extremely complete, as in, jay z is not afraid to show his soul to the world, and he raps about ... One of the most moving and albums i've heard in a long time that has a perfect blend of hip hop, rap and truly soulful tunes that really make you want shake that booty. My favourite track has to be the seed which i've played over and over again and just can't get enough of. To all you hip hop, body shaking lovers out there, this album is a must! xx

Get Rich Or Die Tryin'

I didn't pick this album up until this year (2008) as I'm not normally into this kind of hip hop. I mainly listen to things like Talib Kweli, The Roots and other underground/intelligent stuff.

But I have to say I was surprised by this album, yes 50 raps about the stuff everyone else has said, but he does it in quite an intelligent way and over some dope beats. There are a number of standout tracks and this album is definitely worth listening to.

Just don't expect it to be A Tribe Called Quest, 'cos it definitely isn't. But if you take it for what it is you will enjoy it, and it's great for the car!

(A few too many people on their high horse about this album)

This album is good. So good I might buy it again, It's that good. I can 100% recommend this album for anybody who likes hip-hop, Jazz, Rap, or anything Urban. If you are a fan of The Roots and don't have this album, label yourself the biggest cretin in the world and buy this album pronto.

It is impossible for me to single out the best song; they are all 10/10 in their own rights. Sure, you might think that nothing is perfect, therefore this cannot possibly recieve 5 stars. It is perfect. Thats why this album recieves a "Riddick Seal of Approval".

This guy is getting props from lots of pseudo-underground hip-hop fans who admire IT's vehement political stance and 'skeletal' production style. Take a step back, though. For someone whose pseudonym apparently boasts of his lyrical prowess, IT's flow is pathetic, and his rhymes sound like bad sixth form poetry. The production is certainly skeletal, but also sounds like it was made on fruity loops in about five minutes. Any idea of subtlety, nuance, or hey, musicality goes out the window to make way for IT's cheap imitation of Chuck D. When there's political hip-hop as tight as the likes of Nephlim Modulation Systems, Black Radical Mk II and Orko the Sycotik Alien, Immortal Technique is the last place you would need to look.

LL recorded for two years and made three albums worth of music before he released this. Prior to this release he put out a promotional mix tape which can be downloaded free from the web. Just google 'Return Of The Goat LL'. That mix tape was amazing and I played it all day every day. It could have - "correction" it should have been the CD. I would guess the tracks which didn't make Exit 13 were on the mix tape. The mix tape re-instates him as the GOAT. Exit 13 doesn't.

I heard he reads some of his reviews because this one is real. I've watched LL very closely since 1985, seen his tours, bought all the vinyl and cds and I have to say his skills, and talent is flawless. 25 years in this industry speaks for itself.
