I love this album. As a kid I would listen to this constantly between the summer of 88' and 89 going to and from Coney Island with my sister and my cousins. Slick Rick has been one of my favorite hip-hop artists. His debut album is an perfect example of the genre's finest old school sound. He is so original that you can recognize his style instantly from the rest and why he is "The Ruler." His English accent is extremely original and his flows coincides his accent perfectly. Slick Rick has earned the title "Father of story-telling Hip Hop," for a reason.

Once you listen to this you would understand why artists cover him, and mix in some of his cool lyrics, because even they know; it doesn't get much better than this. All his tracks ... Read More:

This album is just unbelievable.It is in the top two of the roots albums because I cant descide which is better,this or The Tipping Point.I have six roots albums,I dont have come alive.I have organix and it is really good but not as good as there others.Things fall apart is definetly one of there most "complete" albums because it has everything:great lyricism from both thought and malik,great beats with brilliant production and instrumental beats.My favourite tracks are:the next movement,step into the realm,dynamite!,aint sayin nuthin new,act too(the love of my life),100% dundee,adrenaline! and you got me.These are most of the songs on the album so it shows you how good this album is,no album fillers.The roots are one of the best hip hop groups ever ... Grand Champ

This album is pretty bad. Most of the songs are generic and the lyrics are the worst DMX has written. A couple of the songs, Rain, Don't gotta go home, A'Yo Kato, Untouchable and Thank you, are good. Very disappointing.

ALTHOUGH I AM A HUGE JIGGA FAN I HAD SERIOUS DOUBTS ABOUT WHETHER THIS WOULD DELIVER THE SAME QUALITY AS PREVIOUS AND PRESENT ALBUMS. HOWEVER AFTER HEARING THE FIRST COUPLE OF TRACKS THESE QUERRIES WERE BANISHED AS THIS ALBUM IS A CRACKER WITH GREAT BEATS, RHYMES AND VERSUS FROM OTHER ROCAFELLA MEMBERS.

After conquering the rap world on the 1st wu tang clan album,mef was one of the 1st wu members to go solo.Tical is hands down, 1 of the best wu solo cds i've ever heard. The concept of the album is a dark,gothic tone produced by the rza which will keep you hooked straight away! It starts with a strange little flute melody which keeps with the albums tone and then launches into the title track.Not the best track on there,but like all of de songs on this,but is pretty damn good. Track 2 biscuits,is again, not the best,but still amazing.3;Bring the pain is 1 of the standouts on this cd and is an amazing track for mef.All i need is a tribute to his girlfriend which is sensitive, but by no means soppy.What the blood clot is another awesome track,but 4 me it doesn't particularly stand ... Too often I've read over-zealous reviews on here and have been disappointed after buying and playing the cd a few times. I agree with the person above: the same thing happened to me a couple of years ago when I originally picked up 'The Cold Vein' - I foolishly left the cd languishing at the bottom of my pile after first listening 'cos I couldn't get my head around the production/beats or even the rhymes. It pains me now to think how long it took me to give Can Ox another spin.

Put simply, this is without a doubt one of the best albums I own, certainly the best hip-hop album. It's worth buying for 'Iron Galaxy' alone - surely the best intro to any hip-hop album ever?

Wu Tang Forever

Why anyone has any interest in this sort of noise is beyond me. There is no melody, it is rhythmically repetitive and cliched, lyrically it is boring, dirivitive, full of childsh rhymes, says nothing positive, sounds aggressive and there is little or no chord structure at all. Sounds like a million wasps following a thousand fire engines in a war zone. Dreadful. Woeful as a 'music' form.
