i first fell in love with enya's music at the age of 10, when introduced to this fabulous album by my mum. i have since purchased three further copies of the cd (i have one in the car, and one in the house), after having worn out my first!!
i have all of eny's cd's, but this remains my favourite. i find the music absolutely moving, and must listen to at least some of the cd every single day, yet i have never once become bored of it (even after listening to it for the last 21 years!!!).
all tracks on this album are absolute perfection, but in particular, the fabulous "exile" which is both haunting and soothing, and almost leaves me in a trance whenever i listen to it.

This album is one of the best if not the best live albums I own. The show has superb reviews already and that goes without saying. I give it five stars not only for the performance but also the recording. If you turn it up loud and shut your eyes you can imagine the "Sands" with the slight crowd noise and odd "chinking" of the glasses in the audience and really feel and almost see that you are right in the middle of the auditorium with this fantastic band in front of you along with the worlds greatest singer - it's that good!

I have been listening to Sinatra for about 50 years and I still LISTEN to him and I still occasionally find something new in the way he treats a song. I saw him in concert four times! His phrasing and his ability to sing so much with a single breath ( he swam underwater to improve this )were tools that he used with such effect.There have been many people who emulated him but no-one who came anywhere near him, as this collection shows very plainly.

Shirley Bassey is one of those artists who's albums were never reissued on cd but instead had loads of terrible best of albums most of which contained the same material over and over again.
So these double reissues are very welcome to us fans who enjoy listening to an album as it was intended at first.
These 2 live concerts capture some of miss Bassey's finest work. The first, "live at the pigale" shows a very sultry and intimate Shirley Bassey songs like "I get a kick out of you" and the show stopping "the lady is a tramp" just to name a few, miss Bassey also pays tribute to Nina Simone with "the other woman"a fabulous interpretation and a wild rendition of "la bamba"

This is the epitome of easy listening, as it evokes a time when everything was so less complicated. Some would say it tends towards the cheesy, but...bring it on.The songs remind me so much of when I was small and the radio was always on, and everyone sang along. so different from sitting glued to the TV today. This is a brilliant collection at a remarkable price.Some of the titles I was unfamiliar with, but all in all, a most welcome and enjoyable addition to my collection.

This is a great album that DOES cover the concept of what is going on the world.

PRAYING FOR TIME
The first single from the album. This song is beyond amazing. It is definitely one of the best songs on this album. It seems to focus on the way we all struggle to survive in the world of today. I think he's trying to point out that making money these days is not all hunky dory. If listen closely to just the music, it'll sound like something John Lennon would compose.

While Brian Poole & the Tremeloes are hardly essential to British Beat of the 60s they will nevertheless go down in history as the group Decca signed instead of the Beatles and before the Liverpudlians had cut their first Parlophone single they'd made 2 singles and an album of covers-the first of which was Twist little Sister-perhaps their greatest disc compared to the opportunism which followed.
Which of course was to cover Twist & Shout,then a track on the first Beatles LP as well as an EP.The dumb reasoning behind this was "buy our version its cheaper".

Forever Begins Tonight (Special Edition)

I came across the video of Un Angelo (Angels) on Classic FM TV and was instantly struck by the sheer beauty of Patrizio's voice. The album is a very strong collection of songs which tug at the old heartstrings. Highlights on the album are for me: Forever Begins Tonight; Un Angelo and Il Mio Mondo (You're My World). On buying this album, I too bought the debut album "The Italian" but have yet to pick out some highlights as its not quite as instantaneously striking as its far superior follow-up. I'd recommend this album as its pleasant on the ears and perfect for background music whilst entertaining friends or a loved one.
