I'd go as far to say that this album is probably one of the best dance music (certainly, one of the best Big Beat) albums ever made. Grand claims indeed!
I bought this album completely on impulse in 1996 - and it has rocked my world ever since!!! HUGE basslines, massive riffs, beats that get you off yo ass! What more can you ask for? Going out of My head is probably my favourite, followed by Punk to Funk. But then again there's Everybody Needs a 303, which is ace, and The Sound of Milwaukee. But The Weekend Starts Here is a classic chillout tune.....AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH I can't pick a favourite. OK then, they're all my favourites. Am just listening to this now and I cant believe how great it is. I have loved every CD she has done so far but this is so different. Bjork's experimentation in music is so moving and I hope she never stops taking risks

I probably should have done this review earlier, but it just seems the right time to get people to listen to properly GOOD music (dance music seems to have gone down the drain a bit).
Josh Davis has come up with another winner here, in a sense that this album is quite removed from Endtroducing. As reviewers have said already (and i agree), this is a more "song"-orientated album, allowing you to skip to a favourite song, whereas endtroducing was more an album to listen through in one go.
The reason i give it 4 (but 4 1/2 in my heart), is because of the two dud tracks slap bang in the middle of the album (namely 'Right thing' and' Monosylabik'). Definitely not DJ Shadow quality.

This is a great album, containing some mesmerising tracks from the likes of Leftfield, Faithless and UNKLE. Some other reviews mention that the Blur track spoils the album, although not to the standard of the likes of UNKLE, Blur are not a bad choice at all!
The highlight of the album has got to be both Woozy (Faithless) and Beached (Orbital & Badalamenti) but all the tracks have a chilled tropical feel to them representing the hidden meanings in the film well (check 'Richard, its business as usual' for the darker moments).
All in all a great album that deserves a listen!!...

I have read a few not so good reviews, now. I would consider myself an all round music fanatic e.g. Soul, Jazz, Funk, Blues, Hip-Hop, Break Beats, ect. I only listen to music that I think is really well made or really personal, Not cheesy quick produced rubbish like Hardcore or alot of some hard dance produced now a days. I will admit a good tune when I hear it though. If you like good drum and bass and you hear a good track, well imagen lots of amazing tracks squeezed into 1 album. Soundz good then try this. If you are a drum and bass fan then it's a must, for true fanz that is.

Force Majeure is without doubt one of Tangerine Dream's finest albums if not their finest. It's certainly the best album of the band's 1970s output.
After experimenting with a singer on the previous year's 'Cyclone', the group returned to a trio and played to their musical strengths.
The title track opens the album and what a number it is. It brings together everything that Tangerine Dream are about. Moody, atmospheric soundscapes, memorable melodies and a decent rhythmn section. It's twenty minutes of sheer excellence and moves along at an awesome pace.

I bought this on the strength of TC's kooky but affecting mix of the Doors' "Strange Days" and the exquisite "Originality", a blistering burst of dubbed-out, horn-drenched reggae but nothing on the album comes close to said highlight. It has some excellent moments - their own "revolution solution", with Perry Farrell's shimmering vocals gliding over the surface, is a key moment - and TC are masters of soulful dubby basslines coupled with dope beats and expansive percussive arrangements. Ultimately though it's a bit of a yawn. Too many tracks which meander nicely but do little to excite. It's the kind of album that you'd think would be perfect for a post-club chillout experience but in fact if you did put it on in such an environment someone would probably change ... Read More:

This is almost scarily smooth music, in spite of being electronica. And offhand I cannot think of much approaching it in quality. Well, Future Sound Of London. And Massive Attack. And Tricky. Erm, Portishead. Lamb.
"Winjer" has a phenomenal drive and would, were I ever asked to name the one favourite track of all my CDs, probably be thought of first. "Cups" just sucks you in. "Push". It's all quite on a level of its own making, so specifically underworldish.
The day I discovered Underworld was my lucky day: There's more to life than Mahler, Nielsen and Wagner.
