Before this album tango was not much appreciated and listened to by many young people. This CD brought a whole new generation of people into tango world. It also was good enough to be used by many TV stations in various ways and many advertisers used many of the tracks to promote interesting products. In short it made tango more accessible to the listeners who would otherwise not choose tango as their type of music. This particular version has an addes DVD which has a superb Black & white promo for Santa maria de Buenos Aires track. I highly recommend this Cd to all interested in lively & danceable music.

Tim Simenon's 1995 album could be compared to Massive Attack and Portishead albums from around the same time. It's definitely got that Bristol sound, rolling dubby basslines, crisp vinyl-sounding beats. The fact it's got that feel makes it seem a bit dated but overall it's very serious but it just shines with quality from a brilliant producer. It's also good that there's a few tracks with a bit more 'kick' thrown in for good measure.
There's some high-quality guest appearances as well- Sinead O'Connor, Benjamin Zephaniah, Will Self, Justin Warfield. Well worth a listen.

Seeing performing alive to this maestro one only can realize that in this world there is people with a stellar mission in music as he himself has declared it. This stellar sonic sphere:Innovator arrived to my hands in the precise moment of time and of course I have already broadcasted it completely throughout all my radio shows here in mystical Perú:2001_ONETHOUSANDYEARSAFTER!,SPECTRASONICS and B-SIDE/THE CHILLOUT ZONE.When listening with attention to everyone of its tracks your mind travels to sonic universes of hi-tech soul and beyond. He has the power for saving the world from bad and soulless music as he himself has affirmed it,too...and I believe it without any doubt!DERRICK MAY on the stage and decks shows himself as electric as the music ... At the time of writing, it is'nt clear stated on Amazon but this is a greatest hits album. Tracklistings good but there are some clear ommissions. I don't suppose you can have a full representation of Orbital's music on a single disc but most of the tracks are what I think most fans would have put on. Personally I prefer Work 1989-2002 which contains the 7' edits for many of the album tracks (A great introduction to Orbital, teaser for the extended album tracks and a nice bonus for the existing fan). As it is this compilation's good but 2nd rate to Work

Every so often, an album of truly funky genius pops up and makes you want to write a movie just to set scenes to the songs. Unfortunately for anyone just arriving at the Propellerheads' seminal work, you've largely been beaten to it. Rarely a year goes by when there's no film released with at least a few bars from this album hidden away on it.
Where, to give just one example, would The Matrix have been without Spybreak to accompany the excellent `Government Lobby' scene?
This album shines from the opening bars of Take California, right through to the Jungle Brothers' remix of the same track (though cleverly renamed `You Want It Back') over an hour later. There are some lull's, but never a moment when you are not being taken ... Read More:

I originally bought the Radio 3 2007 World Music Awards and it contained the song 'Cha Cha' by the Balkan Beat Box. I liked the track so much I ordered the album and I was definitely not disappointed. Several of my friends have listened and loved it also - although my 22 year old niece thought it was wierd.
The style is adequately described in the other reviews so I won't repeat. I have played it several times and enjoy it more each time. (BTW, The Radio 3 WMA album is also a brilliant album).

Seeing as orbital probably wont be getting back together in a hurry- they're brothers, and possibly to maintain some sanity/resepct/love after nearly 15 years composing together, they headed off in different directions.- this was a REAL SURPRISE for me. I read the inlay notes and was expecting a load of live orchestration without beats, but....UNBELIEVABLE is the only word that struck me.
The acid test for me is always the "jaw drop" moment, and maybe knowing that orbital as an entity probably wont ever exist again, 30 seconds into the first track, i sat there with my mouth open like a child.
I have to agree with one other reviewer here, in that it almost seems to be better than anything orbital have ever released. There are many moments ... Read More:

This CD is full of excellent tracks which have been composed very well. The drums fit amazingly with the basslines and treble. I am not going to list the best songs because it is good throughout (only the Shirley Bassey song annoyed me). In my advice you should buy the other version of this CD which has extra tracks. I havent heard them but if this album is anything to go by, then you should definitely get it
