In my opinion, this album is an absolute masterpiece. There are many things I like about it. The first is that there is no other album in the universe that is anything like it. The second is that the music is so captivating and quality, and the third is that it is best played loud! I'd like to apologise to my neighbours!
This album demands to be listened to. Unlike some other reviews, I don't think this album is repetative, I think it's just the same style of music, like Kraftwerk, only it's nothing like Kraftwerk. It's also nothing like their other albums so it's nice to have a change.
My favourite tracks are :
-Futre proof
-What your soul sings
-Special cases
-Butterfly caught

i have all the albums (apart from we are the night) and i think this has to be the best. yes the beats are quite simple, but they are genius! very addictive listening if your in the mood.
tracks 1-6 are quite simply brilliant. "leave home" is a brilliant start to the album and probably their best piece of work. another track is "three little birdies down beats" this is very repetitive, but is a tune which will get you dancing. "f*ck up beats" is basically a follow up beat to "chemical beats" and they both mix in very well. from track 6 onwards the pace of album slows and is more relaxed, track 10 is very weird but is something different to listen to.
if you havent got this album then buy it! i worried that it may sound dated but ... Read More:

I have just received this album. It is a brilliant mix of laid back tunes, a fusion of different styles of music. For example, on Disc 1 track 3 'Sleep' is a beautiful chillout song, track 4 'Yes, Boss' is a fantastic electronic song and track 5 'Koop Island Blues' sets a new standard for chilled jazz.
There are no fillers, all the music is excellent and I am already looking forward to Volume X.

Seemingly taking inspiration from Aphex Twin's Richard D. James Album released a year before, Homogenic sees Björk completely shed the quaint image she gained through her debut and embrace the unknown, the spacey and the just plain weird. I've already mentioned my love for the amateurish side of Björk, but the glitchy oddness of this album has a metallic sheen to it that very few records have managed, even ten years after its original release. Beats stutter cautiously alongside menacing strings; the production on this album flawlessly allowing the natural weirdness of Björk to roam free. 'Pluto' is way more aggressive than anything she's ever released, and it's made all the more incredible as it's followed by the beautiful 'All Is Full of Love'; the video ... Read More:

Not many albums produced these days with more than 10-12 tracks. 16 tracks of Kosheen and everyone listenable. Uplifting, sad, cool, thoughtfull, all sorts of words to discribe the best Kosheen album so far.

This album is exquisite, beautiful, wonderful. A truly lovely piece of work. It sounds like Goldfrapp are developing as artistes and they're playing stuff they're much more into. You can't really compare it to their other albums; Black Cherry is a sublime opus that stands on its own. I can't say how good this record is; it's just great! If you like Goldfrapp, you might like Broken Social Scene.

............and am purchasing replacement because I couldn't live without it. Play it any time of day. If I play it after bedtime reading to my 6yr old, without a doubt, they'll be asleep before the CD finishes! This album can lift you, relax you, whatever you need, it can do it. Definately in my top 10 and I haven't changed my mind since that first Moon Safari CD purchased many years ago!

The diamond of the old skool rave scene. The best Prodigy album in my opinion (although I'm a big fan of fast paced dance music like happy hardcore) with some of their best tracks, and at the same time it is an absolute disaster. Why Liam and the gang decided to leave out the released single versions of Fire and Wind it up used to be a mystery to me, I now know why, to earn more money. Charly is a bit different aswell, though some would argue better on the album, aswell as a couple of others being a little different. The brilliant versions of Fire and Wind it up (rewound) were left out and replaced with terrible remixes in comparrison. You used to have to fork out another £10 just to get the two singles, worth every penny (especially Wind it Up which has "We are the Ruffest", ... Read More:

I must admit the first song I heard from Orbital was Halcyon + On + On, which still remians my favourite Orbital song (despite this being the only Orbital CD I own - they are very hard to find in Australia).
The first truly great track is Planet Of The Shapes, which seems to be all about maths and physics, which is fine for me because I do have an advanced degree in science (soon). Lush 3-1 and Lush 3-2 retain the high quiality of the previous tracks, but as stated earlier Halcyon + On + On is the best track on offer. It begins very light and atmospheric, but it takes you to another dimention when the bass enters, and is simply the best techno song ever, not that it defines the gener by any means.

If you can listen to this album without smiling, you have no soul. My favourite tracks are Get A Move On, Midnight Feast, Honeydew, and Fish, but they're all great :-)
