This music will be fondly remembered if you grew up watching these cartoons as I did. Illustrates the incredible amount of effort and relentless attention to detail that went into the production of these cartoons. The second Volume is just as fun!

I'd basically agree with the Amazon reviewer on this one. Digital Moonscapes is a lowpoint in an otherwise distinguished catalogue. On the other hand, I play it moderately often (with the exception of track two), and enjoy it for a while, though it doesn't tend to hold my interest until the end.
And I think this is the problem: All of Wendy Carlos' albums push back boundaries, and this one is no exception, but she usually combines technical achievement with musical vision, and here she hasn't really kept the level of musical vision, though there are some interesting things going on nevertheless. Digital Moonscapes was a breakthrough, technically, just as Switched on Bach had been. But Switched on Bach has a musical brilliance that ... Read More:

All I could remember from the title of this album was Gorilla - except that I thought it was a group called 'The Gorillas'. That is why it has taken me so long to track down this fantastic CD. Someone had a copy of it, and it was almost on constantly in the Moni room - our study room - at school. Jollity Farm was a masterpiece, as was Rule Britannia! The CD may have been taken home long ago, yet we still go round saying 'hip hip hip hip hippy!' at random strangers. (surely someone out there must understand?!?) I'm so happy that I have now refound the true source of all that merriment. The other reviewer may be an aged rocker, but I am still in the tender teenage years. This is fantastic listening for anyone who knows how to laugh out loud. Proper ... Read More:

I found Apocalyptica by accident while browsing and I'm glad I did, I love this music, the cello sound is wonderful and haunting mixed with the heavy metal. I am over 40 but have started to learn the cello due to hearing this CD alone. I have since bought more Apocalyptica, and although some tracks can sound a bit similar to the untrained ear, I still enjoy them. The tracks with vocals can be a bit heavy, but the instrumentals are great.
