DJ Krush's forst album is a mix of heavy beats, chilled trumpets and smooth female singers. Keeping The Motion's sax driven beats over a nince female vocal are a good sign of things to come, with Roll and Tumble's harsh bass and tinkly piano another excellent example of Krush's many talents. Big City Lover is another example of a great singer and superb piano chorus that make this album on of, if not his best works. But for me, it's On the Dub-ble's haunting sax and Ruff-Neck Jaw's pacy jazz that make this album amazing.
Buy this album for: Pacy, upbeat hip-hop breaks A truly amazing trumpet track Great female vocals
Don't buy it: If you don't like hip-hop style music

A great introductory album from an artist who sounds like he's yet to reach his potential. Abstract Hip Hop coupled with some aggresive beats and some bouncey beats, mix in a lot of dark music material and a huge range of production styles and you get one nice extended E.P of experimental urban sounds. Well worth a listen, especially seeing as it actually has some classic Hip Hop tracks that I'd rate highly.

When I first heard about this CD it was the artists involved which initially caught my attention. The potential for a really superb album being made here was clear. However, when I gave this album a few listens I was slightly dissapointed. The vocals are superb, Patton sings in his usual rythmic manner and Charles sings through her teeth. However, the musical arrangements all sound bare and uninteresting, and as if they were all played solely on an old synth with a sequencer. Some tracks stand out initially as entertaining such as 'Book of the month' and 'Anger management' but become tiresome after several listens. As for the comedy element, a lot of it is of the Sid James 'Carry on ' variety if you know what I mean, ... Read More:

I purchased this album, expecting some of the blissfull trip-hop chillin beats that Dj krush has so perfected (Dig this vibe, Song 1)And I liked the idea of "an in depth message" to accompany his mind blowingly soulful tunes. However, this album is very untypical of Dj krush. Dity beats, off-key bassslines, robotic melodies and cryptic, aggressive lyrics make this album more of a techno head-fuck than the soundtrack to a chillout session, that I was expecting. It would however appeal to some people - think 'Intergalactic' by the Beatie Boys except much more rushed at the production stage. The highlight is the rap in Japanese-(track 2)a very interesting language, which sounds surprisingly good in the form of a rap. It seems as though ... Read More:
