My first jazz record, oddly enough. So chilled that it almost regresses into a slow pulse as the album flatlines right before your eyes, the heart no longer beating; Kondo's electronically tweaked, echoed trumpets blazing out midnight melodies over Krushed grooves. It doesn't vary, dart, but I dig the mood of it, and the Bob Marley cover is so amazingly done when you consider the absurdity of the situation. For glistening Tokyo streets.

WOW, this album is a must have. It is so laid back but yet loud, and since its on the Mo Wax lable you just know its good. I like this because it is something i can listen to anytime of the day or night, with big beats and mellow sound. Real nice, this is the music you want to listen to on the train from your way into work and back from Dublin City (you would understand if your from dublin).

Possibly because of it being his first album, and earlier in the stage of Aes Rock and Blockhead (Aesop Rock's main producer), this album is a lot more disjointed than the apocalyptically fantastic "Labor Days". The MC'ing is,for the most part, a lot more listless and monotone than more recent realeases. The beats are slightly choppy and can become grating. That said, without listening too closely, I really enjoy this album. The collaborations with Slug and Doseone are dope, and Aes' lyricism is as abstractly mind bending as ever. If you've never heard Aes Rock before, you'd be best advised to buy Labhor Days or the Daylight EP first, but if you've heard some of his more recent stuff, there are much worse CDs to waste money on.

This CD gives a real taste of the hip hop show. It gives you the feeling that you would experience at a live show.
The rhyming and delivery are among the best at the moment. I definitely think Mr Lif is up there with the likes of Del etc.
If you don't mind fast forwarding through the "between track" talking (which is great first time but becomes annoying), then I am sure you will enjoy it.
Perhaps it might be better to have the album, but this is LIVE, and thats what makes it special. After all, real hip hop heads enjoy freestyling more than anything else.

After Dr Octagon this is the next instant appeal album Keith's knocked out. It's a little cheesy in parts(probably the best bits)but that's what we want from the lyrical wizard. I quote "Capital investments my sequence automatic mechanical problems are cured, space investor wall street journal analysis " ? The production on this album is probably the tightest Keith's spat lyrics to. A must for all tech comedy hip-hop fans. Warren.

The latest single to be taken from The Private Press, the original version of 'Six Days' features a haunting sample from a track called 'Six Day War', whose refrain 'Tomorrow never comes until it's too late' digs its way into your head and won't let go. The remix, featuring Mos Def, is a much harder affair, with more beats and scratching, which give the track a darker feel. This version has a much stronger message, taking its lead from the line 'You never thought we'd go to war after all the things we saw'. The third track is a throw away, but that doesn't stop being an essential purchase for anyone with a love of music, or a conscience.

I wholeheartedly agree with the 4-star review, but I'd personally give it that extra star. It's a brilliant album. The diverse styles of the artists is pretty representative of the world that is hip-hop, albeit from a few years ago, as of late, and the album gives you a total of 18 tracks for your money! That's way more than most albums, so I'm pretty stoked about that alone!
The first track which always gets my head going is 'Bugging out' by the Space Travlers. The bass line in that will blow you away.
People Under The Stairs are always amazing, then the Dj Revolution track 'Hard Rock' will further heighten your euphoria.
With Djs Craze, Cash Money, Planet Asia, T-rock, Faust and Infamous all making appearances, this is a ... Read More:

My god, this is what the world needs. A sort of haphazard antidote to all that saccharin – a natural, earthy, gentle compendium of odd noises and broken beats. Turn away from those horrid oily commercial chillout albums and get anything by REQ. The emphasis here is on simplicity, calm, the sort of thing that helps you think. Twisted drum and bass laid over with raising-hair-on-back-of-neck weird sounds – this is refreshing.

This has been one of the joys of the year for me. Repeatedly finding its way into my CD player, I've not got bored of this album at all. In fact, with each listen it gets better and better, sounding fresher and more brilliant the more I hit the play button.
I like to think of this as hip hop as seen through the eyes of Autechre's Gantz Graf machine. The opening few tracks of the album treat you to some intricate splintered samples that fly around your ears. Expertly produced so that it doesn't sound like a jumbled mess, the Prefuse 73 mastery of samples comes from a different school of thought to the seamlessly slick RJD2 and DJ Shadow. Samples fly in like ricocheting bullets, tearing through in reverse before timestretching away ... Read More:

I think the above review is a tad harsh. This album is good. Its not his most catchy joint but it grows on you. I'm a big Keith fan and this is proably the cd I listen to most often. It has variety. The beats are slow and heavy. The lyrics; off key. But thats what your expecting right?
No sign osf Automator or Kut Master on this one but the production is pretty tight.
I wouldnt recommend this one as a first Keith purchase but if you like him already, grab this one.
