One of the greatest albums of the decade and most certainly one of the greatest works ever to be captured on CD! Undoubtedly Enya's greatest moment which she can never hope to better - but only ever hope to match. She manages to capture every emotion here - and every tempo. A masterpiece where Enya reaches perfection in the extreme. This also includes her greatest single ever (that ironically did not chart - and there goes the British Public for you again! Shame on you!!) in 'Wild Child'. It is one of those songs reminiscent of the days when singles would be bought and played over and over again 'til they were worn out! This was Enya's first solo album originally released in 1987 under BBC records and then repackaged and re-released in 1992, which included a revised version of Portrait.
This is primarily a sound track album, and contains mainly instrumentals, and although it only has one song in English "I Want tomorrow" what a song it is! it even contains an electric guitar! sounds strange for Enya, but works brilliantly!
There are some true gems to be found on this CD especially tracks like The Celts, The Sun In The Stream, Portrait(Out Of The Blue), and To Go Beyond.
Well worth adding to your collection! :o)

I absolutly love this album. I can not sit still and listen to this, it really does make you want to get up and dance! I get some very odd looks when I am driving and listening to it! I love all the songs Free me is one of my fav's. Very retro but one of the few albums that I own that I love all the songs. A must buy for all!

Diamond Life

I have been listening to Sade's music since I was 12, and after 13 years, I still love it. Diamond Life is groovy, nostalgic and this is music you'd want to unwind to and to get in the mood for a slow session. Hits such as Smooth Operator, Hang On To Your Love, Your Love Is King are as timeless as Sade is. There are also some new ones that are growing onto me such as Cherry Pie and Frankie's First Affair. Sally reminds me a bit of Jezebel - not in the beat, but in the story of the song. This album is worth more than 5 stars, but I was a bit disappointed with the product that I received from Amazon because the lyrics were not included - and I felt that the product deserved 4 stars because of this.

to anyone wondering whether to buy this album, do it! i went 5 years unaware of this masterpiece and what a source of musical joy it has made in my life.

wonderful melodies, haunting intimate vocals and lyrics, luscious soundscapes, warm electronic beats, glorious choir.

personal favourites are 'undo' 'it's not up to you' and 'unison' and when the choir comes in toward the end it really is musical heaven.

i'm a big u2 fan and i didn't think anyone else could come close but i have to say if i had to take one album with me to a desert island then this would be it. happy listening folks!

Tropical Brainstorm

I've always enjoyed Kirstys music, but Tropical Brainstorm? I LOVE!!! I love the lyrics (so funny & clever, I can't begin to pick a favorite), the style and rhythm makes you want to go out & learn to salsa - the BEST car music ever, but equally good, lying on the couch doing nothing!

I do hope someone has removed the thorn from the reviewers paw, and trust that on a second listen, he will hear the humour and fabulously catch tunes that everyone else seems to hear and love!
I will never tire of this CD, and recommend it as often as possible.
