The eagerly awaited album from this fine singer - but, despite being a finely crafted album, it is so diverse in it's styles that it has little thread of continuity!
However, this does not distract from the fact that this man can sing, and then some, reminding me at times of the vocalisations of the early Terence Trent Darby! Whether it's R&B, soul, gospel or blues, this man's voice cuts him well above any other male vocalist around at present. But, this man is also a proven bluesman capable of some stunning guitar and, while there are a few little touches within the very tight framework of the material here, this could have been a far more interesting album.
